I want to share that I think the new owners have improved the park by taking care of the water and pools more. They are clean. However, the price they are charging for a new coat of paint and a couple house keeping improvements is pretty ridiculous. The pools and slides haven't been improved physically. The lazy river still has cracked concrete, siding falling off and crumbling, old wood structures all around. The lazy river has a "waterfall" from the above waterslide but the "waterfall" is VERY strong, and it hurts, the water is so harsh that it feels like you're being pelted by hail; a lot of people have mentioned this on their Facebook page as well.
The wave pool is fine, there's a new coat of paint and a new mural, sure, but the sides of the pool are old, cracked and crumbling. The wave pool isn't that rough, but it goes to 8 foot maximum depth, so if you're not a strong swimmer you will definitely not want to be in the deep end with the waves on. The music that they play (loudest by the wave pool) is music that's on the radio. There are ads every 10 minutes, and "talk" segments that play every 20 minutes. Usually they play country or pop/top 100 popular songs. I highly recommend that you guys just play a Spotify playlist with no ads or talk segments, as it's pretty annoying and kills the vibe!
The secondary pool with slides, diving platform, and rockwall is clean. The pool seems more updated than the other facilities. I can't say anything about the kids area/pool because I don't have kids, but from what I've seen it looks clean. The tall slides are the same, just with a new coat of paint and a new name slapped on it. Nothing really to say about that.
The three different color twisty slides are rough, faded, and just overall really lackluster. They didn't even get a new coat of paint! I sure hope they are up to safety standards! As in the past, there has been safety issues with those specific slides. The pool the slides feed into looks a bit dirty and crumbling as well.
The food is fine. It's typical amusement park food. I would say it's fairly priced for it being amusement park food. Not good, not bad, just fine. They do have alcoholic drinks, and the prices are comparable to bar prices. They have canned cocktails, mixed drinks, beer and some wine selections.
Adult night... was disappointing, at least so far. They could improve it vastly! Only the wave pool, slides, funnel cake stand and bar are open on adult night. No lazy river, no activity pool... And they charge $20. I went once to the adult night and I can say I will not be back until they improve it. I specifically asked an employee if I paid entrance for the day, if I would get entry (without paying $20) for adult night. They said yes and confirmed. Around 6:30, everyone was being ran out of the park by one of the (extremely rude) park manager Chris. I explained to him that we spoke to an employee and said we could come back in after they re-open at 7pm for adult night. He spoke over me and just said "Go, go, go, I don't want to hear it, go". I didn't even know what to say. I could not believe how rude this man was. Stupidly enough, we came back for adult night and showed the employee (who we spoke to) our previous receipts from the same day to get into adult night. They acted like they had no idea what we were talking about and had us pay again- in hindsight we should have just left, but we paid for $20/a person to stay at the park a bit longer and not have access to all the attractions. Very, very unprofessional and extremely disappointing.
Overall, do some actual improvements, listen to your customer base, listen to feedback, and actually care about your customers and maybe the entrance price of $26/a person will...
Read moreI bought the season pass so we could have a fun place to swim as a family. It was $89 for the early buy rather than $150 regular price or $31 per admission. That’s basically the same price as safari joes. Open 11a-6p most days. No special discount days or events going on like the previous company. Lazy river was dirty and had a roach in it that was following us around. I had to throw it out! The lifeguards look bored and are doing their jobs a little too well. One lifeguard let my 12 year old take my 11 month son down the slides and the next lifeguard said absolutely not. What a bore! So my baby can’t go down slides until he is safe to go alone. What a concept! Parents know that you must take your baby or toddler down the slide for safety reasons. That male lifeguard upset every parent in that pool area so he better have been correct. I’ll ask management next time I go what is the height requirement for the baby pool area and slides. Not impressed this year. I will be returning to get my money’s worth for the season pass but do not buy their tube rentals. Single tubes are $8 and double tubes are $10. BYOT bring your own tubes. We didn’t use a locker and no one messed with our stuff while in the pool. Food isn’t worth the price. $8 for cheese on chips. Lowest price on food is $3.75 for a bottle of water. Everything else was $7-12 for fries, chicken stick, lemonade, etc. Fair and movie theatre prices of course. No coolers are allowed like when it was Safari Joes. I brought in my own plastic water bottle. Just don’t open it til after so they can’t make you throw it out. Don’t forget your sunscreen. There is some seated shade cover but the sun was still shining on us. You can book birthdays here or rent out a cabana. It wasn’t busy enough on Tuesday evening after 4pm for a large group to walk in and not enjoy themselves or find seating. Registration for our photo ID was simple. Go into customer service office and they’ll look up your membership and take photos or use last years photo. We also each got a tag without barcode and name and put it...
Read moreThis is usually my favorite place to take my family during the summer. We decided to kick off the end of the summer yesterday by going here and I tell you the experience I had was terrible. I had 3 kids with me at 42 inches and checked them at the board before walking into the kiddy pool area and the life guard said no it’s 32 inches and I told her to go check the sign it clearly wasn’t and she didn’t care she told me and my sister that our children couldn’t go on any of those slides. So we left and did a few other things that we could. Just her rudeness was uncalled for she had dark hair with red strip highlights and to top it off we take our children to the lazy river because at this point what we can do is now limited and she walks over there speaking to another life guard pointing at my family. We felt so unwelcome and there are usually 10 of us that go and most of the time we rent a cabana. We drive 1 and a half hours to come here. It’s 30 extra minutes for us to go to whitewater and that’s where we will be going from now on. Also don’t get your tickets online it doesn’t offer the kid price I thought the prices were all the same due to this and realized when we got to the park I wasted almost $10 per kid due to getting them online I just chalked it up to money lost but it was just irritating. This place used to be amazing the lifeguards are now very up tight I don’t think I was in a single pool yesterday without them whistling at someone and over ridiculous things, I understand being safe and cautious but there was a father playing with his child and they whistled at him because his child that looks to be about 6 was getting on his back for a piggy back ride in the water. I don’t pay $30 for this if I wanted this I would go to the city pool and pay $10 max and not drive this far. No longer worth...
