So far everytime I've been there not only do I get great service right away I can also get a professional that lets what's the popular thing now a days but also whether you go in all the time or not the 1st time I came in it felt like it should. Heaven for a card collector. That's my opinion anyways. Also the prices aren't to bad either. On a comparable note I haven't found anything that's been cheaper maybe the same price but not cheaper. If your into trading cards or rc cars thats your go to local shop. I'm sure the shop has many more things it's known for because I only just started going there but I won't stop anytime soon that's how you know they have more to offer then amazon and definitely ebay, Definitely ebay. Oh sorry I already said they will give you the honest answer even though they have to make money to stay alive too. They care about the collector and even the non collector. But I'd definitely say they monopolize the southern side of the card store market.. love the atmosphere as well. Always chill people there and friendly as well. Id your just buying cards right now to flip them and make money as much as I hate to say this they are a great avenue for you to go down but just act like you care about collecting though because now a days those kinda people ruin all the fun for people like myself. "But honestly will get you further then dishonesty my momma always told me"(also narrated voice in your head when you read that sentence by Forrest Gump once again. What can I say I just watched...
Read moreI've tried to give Dugan's Sports Cards/Hobby Shop numerous chances over the years. Fool me once they say. Well, after the fourth time, I've called it quits going here. As someone who has been an RC enthusiast for over 30 years (cars, planes and helis), the level of customer service here, or lack of, has been super disappointing.
In an era where local hobby shops are dying and being replaced by online vendors selling cheap counterfeit RC goods from China, I've tried to shop locally. But every single time I've stepped foot in Dugan's, I have yet to be acknowledged as a customer. It seems as if I'm bothering the owner and his wife. First three times, I was never asked if I needed any help, and the last time I was in there, nobody even made eye contact with me. Apparently Dugan's doesn't want my business.
The selection for RC parts and kits is good, but is RC crawler-centric. He carries a lot of parts, both spares and hop-ups. The place is decent sized, clean and organized fairly well. Parking is lacking.
Hobby shops live or die by customer service. They establish relationships with customers that can span decades. I guess if you want to sell ready-to-run Traxxas Slashes to anyone who'll break it and never come back in again, then by all means, go ahead if that pays the bills. But as someone who spends hundreds every year on RC toys, I'll take my...
Read moreI'm not interested in sports cards or RC vehicles, but I can tell you that these guys definitely know their stuff when it comes to those kinds of hobbies. Personally, I'm more interested in Magic and Pokemon cards.
This is a great place to come and browse their collection. Just ask one of the guys and they will help you out, no problem. They are NOT Olympic Cards and Comics. If you have young kids and are looking for Pokemon or MTG or Yu-Gi-Oh cards, definitely go to OCC.
If you want a fair price on sealed MTG or Pokemon products or you don't mind digging through their bulk, you might find some real gems. I always appreciate the banter when I stop by. I could easily spend a few hours looking through their bulk and enjoy a few laughs any day of the week.
Again, if you ever walk in and nobody pays attention to you, just holler at one of them and they will gladly stop what they are doing to...
