Irish Alana — Attraction in Tumwater

Tuesday the 27th was my birthday and last minute I decided to see if I could get my hair colored and trimmed in time for my date with my man! The ladies here were so lovely. They went above and beyond to squeeze me in between appointments, taking up time that could have been spent taking a break to accommodate me. I was delighted at this but over the moon at my experience with my stylist! I’ve never been one to have a “hair lady” as I typically just go where I can get in and have never had a lasting impression but let me tell you I will NEVER go anywhere else and I live an hour away! DeeAnne has such a kind soul, she made me feel welcome and comfortable. I appreciate her willingness to be open and honest with me, I didn’t feel pressured to talk or not to talk. She’s just the kind of person you WANT to talk to ❤️ Even if my hair hadn’t of turned out perfectly I would have enjoyed my experience but even better my hair couldn’t have turned out any better! I absolutely love my hair and so did my family as well as my man! We hadn’t been on a date since our daughter had been born and she really helped me feel confident and my birthday turned out to be the best one yet! Thank you DeeAnne, truly, for everything. Horrible place. Irish was the least friendly hair stylist I have ever encountered. Most are wonderfully engaging and fun to chat with, but not her.

The haircut she gave me was awful and completely lacking in style and style-ability. The highlights she put in my hair came out yellow, rather than a nice silvery blonde, looking very cheap, yet her cost was right up there with most high-end salons. (I’ve been to many, but am fairly new to Olympia so trying to find my place. This salon is not it.)

The lighting in her part of the salon is not good so it was hard to be sure how the highlights looked when I got done. She actually said to me, “men don’t like short hair on women,” then asked, “what is your husband going to think?,” Wow, he loves short hair on women! (So did my ex!) What decade does she think this is? She did a cut and highlights in well under an hour, which has never happened, ever, in 20 years of getting my hair done. She came across as a miserable person who needs to be doing...

Absolutely blown away by my first appointment with Kim Brown that I made an appointment for my daughter who was also blown away. After a few bad experiences with previous salons, Kim put me at ease straight away, asking relevant questions at the start and offering useful advice throughout the appointment. She has such a lovely, warm personality along with a magnificent talent! The salon surroundings are clean, warm, and inviting with an excellent range of the best hair products. Very pleased with our haircuts and overall experience and highly recommend Kim in particular at this salon....
