Theatre 29 — Attraction in Twentynine Palms

Glad I have discovered this theater. Well of course I never discovered the theater but it is new to me.

Since there is not much to do in Twentynine Palms it is nice to find places like this. Such as the Smiths Ranch theater that I have reviewed in the past. I'm very glad that place is there but sometimes the movies there are kind of whack so it is really nice to have an alternative for those times. I went over and saw The Mousetrap never seen life theater but it was a nice experience to enjoy something different other than a motion picture. The play was very good and funny and I did enjoy my time. Also they have a makeshift snack concession stand with very extremely reasonable prices. Everything is only a dollar including soft drinks candy bars chips snacks coffee...

The play is The Glass Menagerie with an excellent cast, terrific costumes & a set that is a perfect blend of shabby gentility. The mother was great as a panicked yet domineering protector of her adult children. The daughter was fragile, shy, frightened showing her passive aggressive rebellion perfectly subtly. Theatre 29 is local community theater run by volunteers to provide musicals and plays in Twentynine Palms. The shows change monthly and are always great fun to watch.
