Virginian Cocktails — Restaurant in Twentynine Palms

A little over a week ago my girlfriend and I were staying in Twenty nine Palms so we could visit Joshua Tree National Park. Since we were visiting from Virginia, we naturally found ourselves drawn to this bar simply for the name. One evening, around 8 or so after finishing our dinner, we weren't quite ready to head back to the hotel for bed, so we had decided on "a drink or two" and then we'd make our way to the room. We didn't leave until close to 1:45am and there wasn't a patron in the bar we hadn't made friends with. The people here are incredible and have fascinating stories, and more than half would be willing to play a round of pool or two if you're game. The service was outstanding, the bartender (Jess) was amazing and very friendly, sharing stories and always making sure we didn't need anything. Complete trash. We tipped the bartender all night but some fat “local” who was entitled to her ex husbands rank came in and all of a sudden the bartender was the most “loyal” person there was. The bartenders are garbage and the bar is trash. They like to claim they’re not getting their money but the bartender can’t even comprehend how to handle money. Such a disgrace. Go ahead and go here, if you like drama and watching wives cheat on their husbands. OH! And those bartenders! Yeah they will play friendly to your face, then talk smack behind your back. The night time regulars are definitly the worst. One gal in particular, oh and trust me... you will definitly know her when you see her. Two wedding rings yet all over every dude possible in the bar. And she goes home with them. Such a damn shame... was hoping for a lot more from a little town...
