Yes! The Jelly Donut, located in 29 Palms California, makes delicious,fresh,donuts-with popping glaze, delicious filled donuts, coffee and drinks-but dont let the name fool you-"The Jelly Donut" is also home to a super delicious Vietnamese cuisine Pho Restaurant too! They have a great vietnamese cuisine menu. They make delicious fresh pho noodle soup,we had the #5 Pho-King soup with beef-excellent-and they have delicious "dumpling tacos" a super tasty spin on the already tasty dumplings-you gotta try these with their chile oil paste. Everything is either take out (they make everything fresh and fast) or eat outside in their sunny patio-which in a prior life was a gas station and they still have one of the original vintage red pumps there! They keep the place super clean and covid safe! This place is a local fave of residents, visitors to nearby Joshua Tree National park and the men and woman of the largest United States Marine Corp.,bases in the country-and now its one of our "Pho and Do" favorites too! Plenty of free parking and you call ahead and pick it up! . . . #thejellydonut #29palmscalifornia #29palms #usmc #vietnamese #pho #phonoodlesoup #potstickers #soup #dumplingtacos #donuts #jelly #glazed #maplebar #chileoil #dumplings #potstickers #sandwiches #chickenwings #Eggrolls #shrimpeggrolls #fritters #thejellydonut29palmscalifornia #godisgood #seetheusa #ilovepho #ilovedonuts #ilovevietnamesefood #marinecorp #waynesalvatti...
Read moreMy brother and I are visiting from out of town to see our brother in the Marines. We are Vietnamese so we were so excited about spotting this quirky little restaurant. Jelly donuts AND pho? So interesting. But, we didn’t even get to eat there because the customer service churned our stomachs away and we lost our appetite. Right when we walked in, the young Asian man was rude and short with us. Not friendly and not what we were expecting for such a highly rated spot. Then, when we placed our order the worker said “cash only” but in a rude way and that was the last straw. We turned around and just left. They really need to train their workers to be more hospitable and friendly. It’s unfortunate but I can’t support a business and give them my money if they’re not kind and appreciative of our business. Maybe it was an off day or something but it wasn’t busy at all. No reason for that man to be rude. Nobody was eating anything outside the place. I also think they need to renovate and clean the place up because it looked dingy and unloved. Really wanted to like the place and overlook all these other issues but that staff member was definitely...
Read moreFun(ny) place with great food for what they serve. Converted gas station spot (years ago) that sells yummy fresh donuts in the morning (go there early, they only make a few trays each day and they may run out, though they seem to have this down to a science to meet demand). Other times, they sell Pho and ramen (and a few other signature dishes). Their Pho name menu is hilarious, like "Pho Love", "Pho Real", and "Pho King". I had the "What the Pho?" (special combo), which if you know how Pho should be pronounced in Vietnamese is kind of clever and funny. Regardless, Pho (confirmed with others in our dining party) was surprisingly good and authentic -- apparently the owner's mom/grandma's recipe. Never expected to have such good Pho in the middle of the desert! Highly recommend visiting for the good time and good food. There is little 'pretty' ambiance here--go for the food, nice service, and fun experience, not the 'ambiance" (not meant to be fine dining). Entrees were ~$16 at time of review. Not a huge seating area inside but plenty of seating in covered front patio (when it's not sweltering hot in...
