Great place for my dog, he loves coming here so much! We came here almost every week.
Some people do leave their dogs unattended and sit in their vehicles when it’s too cold out.
We’ve had one bad experience so far, when my dog was mounted & attacked.
My dog and I walked in, the minute we did a dog came up to mine sniffing him. We didn’t mind it, considering this always happens to any dog that walks in, so I just kept an eye on them, it was face sniffing which is already a red flag to me.
My dog found a place to poop in the corner and minding his own as per usual, the dog followed mine around, lowly growling at him & trying to mount him.
Usually, my dog doesn’t have an issue with these kinds of dogs. The owner recalled his dog giving various “no” commands & held him/her for a bit, petting his dog while telling it to behave.
My dog shook it off and let it go. The owner eventually let his dog go and his dog is immediately hyper focused on mine. He follows him around, doing the same thing. I keep an eye on them, notice the same dog is now stiff & low growling at mine, positioning himself on top of my dog. I walk over to the front to throw my dogs’ poop away, both my dog and his dog are near the front. I hear growling and instinctively turn around to see the dog nip at mine and boom, fight started.
The owner of the other dog pushed past, trying to get ahold of his dog, recalling as much as possible, while I tried to get dog in hand, his dog not letting go of mine. They are so hyper-fixed on each other, I grabbed my dog, the other dog still trying to bite mine and his owner grabbed him quickly.
My dog is a pitbull, he’s uncut, and male, you can imagine the kind of looks we got. I have went through a lot training with him. We didn’t even stay long enough to hear an apology or try to fix anything. Seeing how hyper focused this dog was on mine, I decided it was unsafe. My dog was left with lots of cuts & now scars.
At first, I was very upset with my dog, considering the hours of training we put into him until I realized exactly what I saw and knew exactly what pushed him.
Not every owner is perfect. Not every dog is gonna get along with other dogs, so I don’t blame them, but even then, I now avoid any enclosure with lots of dogs in them unless we know the dogs.
My dog is not an aggressive dog. His breed is labeled as aggressive, but he’s extremely friendly to every dog he meets. He’s well-trained & properly socialized. He normally finds a quiet place to poop and minds his own business unless the dogs wanna play. Even if they growl at him or not, he usually ignores them.
Of course like any other dog, if he’s pushed to a point where he has to correct another dog or defend himself, he will.
If your dog has no recall, please don’t bring them here. We can’t blame the park for another dogs’ behavior, so I would recommend coming here if you’re willing to supervise your dog...
Read moreThis has been a great place to take our dog for years, but today was the first time EVER that some called the police cause he said my dog was vicious because she was barking at the fence, as well as his dog when he was bringing his dog into the park. I am am owner of mini pigs as well, they where in the park as well with our dog, we've had our dog for 7 years and the pig for 7 months, she has never shown aggressive behavior to our pig or any other animal. Our pig is also a service/therapy pig for my wife that needs this type of animal, I will say that because of this idiot person wants to have little man syndrome and is terrified of anyone with a voice we will probably stay away so no...
Read moreTraveling with my Honey and found this on google. We loved how there was a fenced safety entry, then a fenced corridor to 3 separate “fields” all with trees and seating all gated separate. There is a drinking fountain that works for the dogs but not the people.
During my experience there I took notice of the separation and purposefully stayed away from other dogs in another area, some lady with 2 little dogs didn’t take as much notice and her animals were practically 1 growl away from being mauled. It’s an off leash park but people gotta pay attention to their animal still….and get you dang aggressive...
