First off, this is the first negative review I have ever bothered to post on-line. On 08/13/18 my buddy and I checked into the Park Motel in Twin Falls at about 6PM, needing just a quick place to sleep overnight on our trip back to Oregon. The price was right (about $90 bucks) for two beds. First off, I noticed the flies in the room which took a while to eliminate. My buddy pulled back the sheets of his bed and watched TV in his shorts for about an hour before we walked to dinner. Almost immediately, he complained of an itching welt forming on his left hand. We didn't pay much attention to it at that time, went to dinner and returned about an hour later and retired for the night. The next morning, my buddy woke up with multiple, itching red welts on his arms and back. This parasitic attack by bed bugs, without doubt, occurred while my friend slept in that bed. My bed was not infected and I was not attacked. Obviously my friend was not happy. We took photos of his nasty welts and went to the office to not only notify them of an obvious infestation, but to request a refund on the credit card. The office was not open at 7AM, and we had to hit the road. We left a voice mail on the phone number on the door explaining the situation and asking for a complete refund. An hour later we received a return call from manager "Dave" who claimed he had already had the room professionally examined by Ecolab, located in Rupert, ID. Dave was extremely defensive, asserted he had no "bugs" in his rooms and said there would absolutely be no refund. He threatened to file a criminal complaint with the police department for "credit card fraud" if we challenged the credit card charge. He questioned our integrity and said we would be lying if we left a negative review, which we made clear would be forthcoming. He blamed the hotel that we stayed at the night before for the bed bugs which he asserted had probably infected our clothes. After raising his voice and hanging up on me, I called him back, attempting to calm him and further discuss the situation. I asked him if I could talk to Ecolab and he reluctantly provided me a phone number. I called and talked to "Eric" who told me he worked for Ecolab and had sent an inspector out to the Park Hotel to inspect our room. Eric was vague and evasive about their procedures, leaving me with doubt that a professional inspection was ever conducted in the 1 hour after we vacated the room. The bottom line: Manager Dave will adamantly deny, deny and deny any condition that reflects on the health and safety of his rooms. So, if you want to play roulette with bed bugs, the Park Motel offers pretty...
Read moreThings were great and we had a very decent room (aside from the fact that our room wasnt even ready to be rented out i.e. no bed or box spring) the lamp built in to wall had a short, no shower head fossit, air conditioner filter was extremely dirty, and our doorknob wasnt even on all the way it had a missing screw which resulted in our room key getting jammed into doorknob) but rates were very reasonable. The motel does weekly inspections to "make sure all appliances and things are working properly) . If that was the case, our room should have been ready to go when we rented it out. The weekly inspections are a major violation of privacy and arent even necessary. They're not government subsidized. Tenants pay out of pocket until they receive assistance from another source. We stayed about two weeks. One night a verbal argumenr ensued between me and the other tenant in my room. Security was called (and this was the only time security was called on our behalf. Unfortunately, some false allegations were made and subsequently we were forcibly removed from the property and given only a two hour window to vacate. The managers of the motel refused to negotiate with us. Because of this, we lost an entire week of assistance money we had received from a local church. We were not able to get. A refund or transfer the funds to our new location. We were treated like we were scum. I am appalled at the behavior and the lack of remorse or empathy from the management team. I was trespassed from the property and all other New Leaf Properties in the area. Over allegations that werent even true.
Do not stay here unless you want your privacy invaded, and your dignity taken away. My mom and I are homeless and I paid out of pocket for the majority of our stay. I had to lose a job I was supposed to start the day we were removed due to the situation. I feel we were wrongfully judged and we are now living out of our car because nowhere else in Twin Falls is affordable. New Leaf Properties should be ashamed of themselves for putting honest good people out on the street over one...
