It is very dated and dark inside of here. The food is way overpriced, and the service is just adequate. I know there are regulars here, that like to sit at the bar and be seen, or not seen, drinking over priced cocktails. But this is 2024, and the time for dark decor and old fashion pictures and fixtures passed 25 years ago. There are some people who enjoy this atmosphere, but I am not one of them. By looking around, there are people who agree with me. The chairs at the tables are uncomfortable, and the booths are small. The salad bar has few choices, just the cheap stuff. No eggs, seeds, bacon, just lettuce, and a few veggies. The soup de jour, however, split pea when we were there was fantastic!! Big chunks of meat and a yummy consistency! My fish and chips were just frozen things, but fried nicely. My husband's sirloin steak that was supposed to be cooked medium temp was served rare. I could not have eaten it like that! This was the same problem we had on our last visit. This time, I ordered the fish because last time I had shrimp that was not cleaned properly. Eww, nothing as bad as biting into shrimp and crunching on ... ewww... like I said. After a marginal meal, we decided to end with the blackberry crisp. This consisted of a thin layer of mostly berry seeds covered with, idk, some kind of speckled something that looked like wheatina and then baked. The icecream they topped it with was top notch, but i couldn't enjoy the blackberries because I was just eating seeds. Yuck. Our visit was because we received a gift certificate, which was nice, but we certainly don't go there anymore, since nothing there changes except the increase in price. I wish there were more windows to let the light in. Friendlier staff. Better prices. Better cooks. A nicer atmosphere. I really want to enjoy myself here, I really do . But changes need to be made to bring in a younger crowd. The older patrons are only getting older, and this seems to be the...

Just had dinner with my wife. Server spilled my wife’s entire drink in her lap and then said they would get her another one to replace it. Fifteen minutes later my wife still did not have a drink. When we asked, our waitress said she put the order in and would check on it. When she finally received her drink the waitress made sure to let my wife know that we would not be charged for the second drink, and made sure we knew it was not her fault but it was the server’s fault. To which my wife replied that she would hope that we were not charged for the drink because she was unable to drink her first one and was wearing it. (First time I have ever had a drink spilled on me and ended up paying for it.)

I’m not going to talk about the fact that our order was incorrect when we received it and when asked to correct the problem it never actually got corrected.

I would like to mention though that when we received our check we didn’t even get an itemized receipt to verify that we were not charged for the drink that was spilled on my wife’s lap. Now this may be our fault but my wife handed the waitress our card, when we flagged her down, so we could pay our check that we had not received. When the waitress came back there was no itemized receipt showing us what we paid for. We would have asked for one but she disappeared and did not come back.

Basically we felt like we were ignored and treated like second class citizens. I would not recommend even though I have been a fan of Rock Creek for most of my adult life. Great food but service continues to decline...

Arrived tonight at 6:08pm, was told 20 minutes wait, actually seated 30 minutes later after being skipped by the hostess for another party with a similar name (but hard to confuse us as we were the only two parties waiting for tables). Ordered dinner and drinks within 10minutes of sitting. 3 of the drinks came, but server forgot to place the fourth order at the bar and had to be reminded. After 30 minutes we had to flag server down for appetizer order status. Again the server forgot to place the ticket for the appetizer and had to be reminded. It was 1.5 hours after sitting down that our food finally arrived. No refill of drinks offered, had to flag server for bar drink refill. When food arrived my order was a filet that was ordered medium rare, instead received a “filet” type steak that had burnt black edges and a cold raw middle, and a baked potato that was cooked but had cooled down to the point where the butter wouldn’t melt because the interior was luke warm at best. The other 3 orders were of varying quality, all on the “poor, but edible” side.

In addition to the poor food quality, the overall service was questionable at best. The hostess was young and untrained. Our server was very forgetful, inattentive, spacey, and appeared intoxicated while wandering around the tables in our section.

Needless to say, a lot can be explained away and understood during tough times, exceptionally busy nights, etc., but it is apparent this establishment does not have its business together and I will not be returning or...

The waitress is very polite and professional, she recommend is a very amazing dark beer; also, she helped our family decide the best cuisine of the night. With lamp( awesome, very tender, juicy and well-cooked), prime rips( the most delicious one that I have ever tasted) lobster, shrimps and high quality salad bar and a brilliant black been soup, this is the most worthy meal, only 200 bucks and we are all full and please. If you want to have a great meal here, make sure you book asap, this is the best restaurant in town.

I wanted to like this place. Heard great things from a former resident. But the wait was long, the service perfunctory, and the food okay. Wanted Oysters Rockefeller but they ran out, so I went with St. Patrick's Oysters (bacon & cheese). Oysters were too milky and overly briny, cheese made it too salty, needed something creamy to offset the crusty cheese. Prime rib & lobster combo weren't bad. My family says the steak they ordered needed salt & more flavor. Portions seemed chintzy too. Jakers is way better for the money.
