Obion County Public Library — Attraction in Union City

a teenage girl asked one of your "librarians" for history of the Russian revolution and was directed to the fiction section of your library. As if this was not bad enough, she was then given a soft core porn book by Danielle Steele and told that it was the only book they had on the subject. Excuse me for seeming dumb but, since when is fiction and history the same ? Does this mean that all books by say,Stephen King or Issac Asimov, are now considered history because they are not staged in our time frame? If this is the caliber of the people who are technically supposed to be helping people learn from liturature ,freely available in most of our once great and educated country then I for one am disgusted and afraid of the direction our tomorrow is headed. The individual that directed this minor child, who wanted to learn something real and meaningful, was given a fictional period romance novel and told it was 'historical'. LUDICROUS!!!!! I am completely outraged and think that this library should re-evaluate some of the employees as to their literacy before allowing them to mis-direct the young of our country...You have not heard the end of this,as I intend to call the local news and the papers as well to warn people of...

Probably the nicest library you'll ever visit. Has a great children's area and comfortable places to sit and read. Large stone fireplace.
