Don Sol is the true family restaurant that keeps locals in mind. I have eat here since they opened many years ago. I eat at all the local Mexican Restaurants and usually prefer Don Sol. When it comes to the quality and freshness of the food, it’s hard to beat. Now I will say, their chips are thick (like an actual tortilla) and have a large crunch but their salsa is fresh with cilantro. For fresh grilled steak, tender chicken, guacamole, shrimp, salmon, etc., this is a great place to go. I have only had an issue once and they was so generous in making sure I was satisfied with my meal. They have the same daily specials every week and they are certainly worth looking into. Their salsa is slightly different from everyone else (you can taste the ingredients) and the chips are crispy.
I really like the Caribe Shrimp and, on special occasions, I'll order the Seafood Plate. While expensive, it's probably my favorite thing on the menu.
Most of the time, I take advantage of their "Make Your Own Combo" special. Basically, they offer a list of 16-17 items and from that list, you pick out the four you want to make up your own unique plate.
The staff are always friendly and the restaurant really supports the community too.
Oh, and they always go all-out for Cinco de Mayo each year.
