E W James & Sons — Local services in Union City

I just moved back home to Union City after living in Western NC for the passed 8 years and even in the small town I lived in had a grocery store from a chain named after the founder Like E.W.'s and I thought they were high. The only reason I had went to them was bc I picked up my walmart order and they were out of a few things...anywho, after my grandson and I got back home I went over the receipt bc I was missing an item and wanted to make sure I didn't pay for it,, which I didn't...my grandson picked out a REG sz bag of doritos and they were rite at $7.00. What the heck? I normally look at prices before I put things in the buggy but I had no idea. Good lord, does the James family need money that bad cuz I know that I need to watch what little I have. I just finished chemo and at this moment and since May I haven't had an income and savings isn't much of that any more...sorry...

I just have to say what a wonderful experience I had at E.W. James & Sons thanks to a young man named Bretleer. He was so kind and patient with me, helped me find everything on my list, and even offered to carry a few things when he saw my cart getting full. You don’t find that kind of helpfulness much these days!

Bretleer had such a nice attitude the whole time — polite, cheerful, and genuinely happy to help. It’s refreshing to see someone take such pride in their job and treat customers with real respect and care.

E.W. James & Sons should be proud to have someone like Bretleer working there. He truly made my shopping trip pleasant from start to finish. I’ll definitely be looking for him next...

I was rudely confronted by a prejudice man and told to leave the store because I had 2 teacup puppies. I told him I had paperwork and the jackets were in the car. He said he had to walk with me to make sure I left promptly. He then stood by glaring a hateful look at me. Terrified and embarrassed to say the least. I took out my camera to video him and he walked away. I will be reporting immediately to the proper authorities. I have a video of the incident and photos as well as paperwork on my SERVICE DOGS. I have sent the district manager Nick Flippin the video and my paperwork. Hopefully he will fire the man...
