They usually steal the entire security deposit. I lived in this apartment for 2 years, from Dec 2015 to Dec 2017, have $500 as security deposit but the management not given any thing back, instead they sent me receipts for the entire money. They use your money to prepare the apartment for the next customer. Normal wear and tear happens in any apartment, but asking money for the same is not acceptable. So please take photos or videos while you check-in in the apartment.
In 2016 Dec when my lease expired the manager was not ready to lease the apt for the market rate. In Nov 2016 management offered me to renew for $2500/month. But due to my job contract renewal pending I am unable to confirm and given notice to vacate. Later I found the same apt is listed for much lower price in their website. In Dec 2016 my job contract got renewed and I asked manager to allow me to continue for the current market rate. But she denied it, and told me that, I can continue only for the old offer given. So I am forced to move to a new apartment because the market rate was less that time.
Pros Near to Bart station ( 15 Min walk ) Washer and dryer in built.
Cons Greedy management, will not compromise on any thing, they will charge you in what ever ways possible. Forget about the deposit, you will not get any money back while leaving. Several break-ins, many cars parked inside the community has been broken several time, but management does nothing to prevent this. High utility bills ( more than 100 $ every month ). I was out for a month for a vacation, still the rate won't change. Thus understood it is not based...
Read moreRecently moved in to the Skylark apartments. Apartment was clean, staff is very friendly, maintenance is quick and efficient. My unit is close to a busy street so the traffic is a little noisy but not that much of a nuisance. They allow up to three dogs which is great for dog owners. So far I have not had any complaints with the neighborhood dogs. The complex is large with plenty of space to walk your dogs and they have a small playground optimal for small children and older toddlers. There are gates throughout the entire complex which prevents unwanted visitors, all gates require an access code or gate key which greatly increases the safety of the residents. I live in a downstairs apartment, if the tv is too loud or something is dropped you can hear it through the floors, but otherwise, regular walking around and volumes at decent levels cannot be heard. So far it is a nice place to live, near a grocery store and local restaurants. Improvements could be made to the playground and as long as neighbors use common courtesy, it can be a pleasant...
