The Villas — Attraction in Union

My experience with The Villas has been great. I have lived here for a year and the only reason my wife and I left is because we bought a home. Location is great, right down the street there is whole foods, target, home depot, shop rite, best buy and many food options. Also, 5 minutes away from the great Millburn park!

For the price you really get a lot. I checked out 6 apartments before finding the Villas and once I did I signed the lease right away. We were in a 1 bedroom apartment that was about 840sqft. Most places I saw were around 500sqft and didn't include many things that the villas offers.

The villas does not have assigned parking which I loved. The parking is plentiful and spacious. Given the freedom to park anywhere was good. We never came home, even late night, and couldn't find a spot.

The amenities are washer and dryer in unit (which was a must for us), central AC, stove, fridge, dishwasher. The central AC was great to have as well as the dishwasher. There is also plenty of storage space which was big for us. There is 4 big closets. We also were able to fit a full length 6 chair kitchen table in the dining area. The apartment itself is very nice. We enjoyed our layout. We had a 1 bedroom apartment on the second floor of building 3. I also enjoy that each apartment building only has 2 floors and 8 apartments. We didn't want to be in a complex that had more than 2 floors.

Our apartment building was very quiet. We hardly heard any of neighbors, but when we did see them in the hall or outside they were all very friendly. We became friendly with the other residents. It did really give us a homey type feeling.

Lastly, the Lucile, Lenore and Denise in the management leasing office were great to work with. Always polite and accommodating. Maintenance lives in the complex which is great and is available 24/7 for emergencies. We only needed to call maintenance twice and when we did he was always prompt and polite. He fixed the issues rather quickly.

I have lived here for about 8 years. Overall it has been a nice place to live - your typical apartment issues (dishwasher breaking, leak, etc) but nothing crazy. No, over the last few years maintenance has gotten much better. The old maintenance person was terrible and half assed everything. HOWEVER - before you move here please be aware that sadly this has become an unsafe area. TODAY (literally as I type this) six cop cars are outside of the building next to mine because there was a break in. This is the third break in - that I know of - since August. Unfortunately being on the border of not so nice areas, The Villas is a perfect target and also close to hop on 78 to get away. They slice the screen doors and break in. And this break in, I hear from my friend who is on PD that the women was home, watching TV and they broke right in not caring and stole from her. This is disturbing and incredibly scary. THE worst of it all is The Villas NEVER alerts residents, EVER when this happens. I found out abut the first breaking from a Facebook group and the last two from my friend on PD. DO better Villas -- protect your residents. Please consider this when thinking about moving here.

ALSO - mice, cave crickets, house centipedes. LOTS of them and the exterminator the management sends out is rude and useless. I paid hundreds for my own exterminator who came out and not only found multiple holes found a dead mouse on a trap in my laundry area and mice droppings EVERYWHERE in my closets including my bedroom. He said I had at least 20+ mice. Disgusting. And Villas does absolutely nothing. The management is atrocious and I am amazed that this place is still...

I have been a resident of The Villas in Springfield for 2 years. We have just signed lease for year 3. The complex is well kept, quiet, in a nice location. Five minutes from ShopRite in Millburn (never crowded), we are 10 minutes from the center of Millburn with many wonderful restaurants. Also close proximity to Route 78 and The Garden State Parkway. The on-site staff in the Rental office are reactive, courteous, and personable. This past summer the management did a wonderful thing for their tenants. They installed a fitness center with multiple cardio machines, treadmills, stationary bikes, and a multi-faceted weight station on which you can work virtually every upper body part-chest, back, shoulders, triceps, and biceps. Additionally, they have set up a game room with a pool table. Also there is a banquet area which we can use for gatherings like a birthday or such that we can entertain in. Garden Communities / The Villas did not have to do this for their tenants. This was a wonderful thoughtful gesture of respect and showing us tenants that they value us.
