Gorgeous new (built in 2009) 5000-sq ft chamber music hall right on Kean University's East Campus. It's a very safe, well-patrolled area.
The recital hall itself is stunning, the acoustics are second to none, seating is comfortable and inviting. Ticket prices are quite reasonable and the level of talent that comes through on a regular basis is amazing.
Plenty of parking, especially since performance times tend to not overlap with classes, but it is a bit of a walk if you don't get into the first, smaller lot closest to the building.

Read moreWhen you walk in the ticket office is to your right with the doors to enter the theater in front of you. Each tells you the seating. Toward the left is the men's and women's bathroom. There is seating outside the theater for those who wish to sit outside of the the theater. Inside the seats are comfortable although there is air conditioning so brings jacket as it gets rather chilly in there. From where we sat I could clearly see the entire stage. Read moreThis show was wonderful. I don't know much about Black Violin before a friend invited me to the show, then I made a conscious decision not to look them up until after. And it was almost like being a teen again when you discover or someone reveals to you some fantastic music you haven't really listened to before. Just a great show.
