My experience at this restaurant was not delightful. The waitress took our order and when the food arrived it's incorrect. One of my dishes was a soup and when I tasted it it was cold. I asked the waitress to please heat my soup up and 5 minutes later she came back with the same soup and it was still cold. When we ordered our steamed we asked for them medium and received them well, well, well done. We also asked the waitress for salads and she brought us rice instead. Our fished came with fried cassava but when we received with our dish they were also cold as if they were frozen Not freshly fried. During our course the waitress did not even come by to ask how everything was. We flagged down the manager and informed him of our expirence and he immediately said if we wanted some cake on the house. It was apparent that he was not listening. My wife asked him if we can have a coffee to go while he was getting out check. We sat at the table for an additional 15 minutes. We got frustrated and went to the manager to pay. I informed he manager that who ever had trained the staff obviously dose not know anything about the hospitality industry. The manager took my comments with a grain of salt and offered 10% off of the meal. At this point that was acceptable but when I received the check I was charged for the soup in which I find not eat. I brought this to the managers attention so that he can reconcile the receipt. When he returened he took of the soup but did not take the 10% off as he committed. I had to bring this to his attention and had to show him that this is not acceptable. At this point I just wanted to pay and just leave... But the manager was adement on explaining the figure amount on the receipt. I just told the manager to just take my money so that I can leave. I believed he realized his mistake by giving me the 10% back in cash. I hesitantly took the cash and left Paradorrojo.
My food and customer service expirence at this restaurant was more disappointing then I expected. The waitress was incompetent and the manager, who I truly believe ment well, was not capable of dealing with customers. Whoever is training the waitress staff and whoever is spot checking the food that comes out of the kitchen needs to be educated in the hospitality industry when it comes to food. We will not return to this establishment. This gets a...
Read more1.4 stars... I wanted to try this place as I have been to the Parador Rojo 1. And I really wanted to like it..... The only thing that my server was worried about was making sure our check was over $100... (they add mandatory 18% to over $100 or 6 people checks).
It was a Friday night with lovely music. We sat on the heated porch and decided we wanted a nice drink. The server pointed to the menu part where the liquor is displayed (no prices, just pictures). She kept pushing for the nice drink that's big. She said it was big enough to share so me and my friend shared 1. It was a big "fishbowl-style" drink (see picture). Every time the server came back to the table, she kept asking if we wanted something else to drink. We kept saying no because the drink was huge. Come to find out, the drink was $36!!! I don't mind paying for it but make it worth my while. It was a weak and "juicy."
For food, I ordered the Carne Asada. It was just OK. It was a thinner cut of meat that what I'm used to and even though I asked for Medium, it was cooked Well (probably cuz it was a thin cut of meat. My other issue is that they charged me for salad even though the picture clearly showed salad with my Carne Asada. I was charged $3 extra. When asked, she said these were mere "serving suggestions" and they "charge for everything."
Now to top everything off, I asked for water and asked for lemon. I was brought 2 bottles of water (that's fine) but they CHARGED ME for lemon... $1.90!!!!! When I asked her, she said "oh we charge for everything here. This is fresh squeezed limes". First off, why would I assume that lemon is not free. I asked for lemons thinking that I'll get a little wedge on my glass. Not $2 worth of lime juice! After I found out I was charged for it, I made sure to drink it and not waste it!!!! Lol
My overall experience was "meh". I don't mind paying for the things I buy but warn me ahead of time of basic things like extra charge for limes/lemons. As sure as heck I only left her 18%. I am a great tipper but this experience left a sour taste in my mouth. (Cuz I drank all that line juice!! Lol) and I don't like to be taken for a fool. I used to be a server. No bueno. Wil...
