Read moreVery cool, pristine park. Very quiet, and a good place to chill, be by yourself and contemplate the world’s problems, or the meaning of life. It’s also a nice memorial to our country’s veterans.
There’s plenty of natural space to wander around, there’s a couple of picnic tables and benches, and it also connects to the trails that lead through the Universal City Municipal Park and even on up into Selma. It’s a good 7 miles of trails if you zig zag and take all of the side trails.
But if you’re just here for the day, it’s a nice place to hang out for quiet picnic.
Parking is bountiful and there’s hardly ever anyone in this park - it’s very quiet.
Restrooms with running water are available here, so it’s a good stopping point if you’re hitting the U.C. trail system. It’s also right alongside the Cibolo Creek - it’s usually dry, but sometimes there’s water in it and you can hang out with the ducks - yay ducks!

You’re only couple of blocks off the end of jet runway so it can get a little loud, especially during winter time when north winds makes it the takeoff end. The walking loop in park is smooth concrete, perfect for walkers and strollers. For those mobility impaired but adventurous, walking trail long Cibolo Creek is for the most part, concrete stabilized packed gravel. First dry creek crossing is bit of a challenge but the trail past it is easy and level enough for most. Be warned it can be a rough ride if using mobility equipment designed...
