Silk Hands Spa — Attraction in Vancouver

I’d like to start that this has to be one of the only 1 star reviews I’ve ever given. I booked a DermaLuxx facial and left with a chemical burn on my nose.

I arrived 15 min early as required to find the door locked. No one responded to me via text (how they contacted me to tell me my appt was moved by 15 - to the original time I booked?) Someone else left and that was how I was able to enter the facility.

As I was filling out my intake form the woman - who I’m assuming was Karla (she didn’t introduce herself) began telling me about her product display - which I have no interest in buying as I have a product line I use loyally. After she took 15 minutes of my appt time explaining her display she took me to the room for it to not be turned over with used sheets and empty cups everywhere.

She did a quick downturn - not sure if it was sanitized. Then left the room for 10 min as I lay there with no blanket or pillows. She came back and immediately started using her bare hands on my face to then tell me she didn’t want to perform the service I booked and do a different facial. I politely told her I did not feel comfortable with this as I have sensitive skin & know what works best for my skin.

She got an attitude and started the facial 35 min after my appt time. I have been getting “hydrafacials” for over 5 years, it is a gentle relaxing treatment… this was not that. She was pressing the suction tool so hard into my skin that my nose now has a chemical burn on the side of it. She then only did my nose and forehead and started massaging my head. I asked why the full face wasn’t done and she said she would get to it.

She continued by not explaining anything she was doing the DermaLuxx came with the Oxygen and Cyro boosters - again she was so aggressive and all over the place that the tools would slip and hit my eye and just overall she had no idea what she was doing.

She then got up and left the room without saying anything. I sat there for 10 minutes then went to look for her and ask why my facial wasn’t done (it was an 80 minute service) as less than an hour had passed from when she actually started the service till then. I asked her if she didn’t want to do the service she could have told me from the beginning instead of being rude and just walking off.

She then asked what else I wanted - which I told her I just wanted the service which I paid for. She then did my full face (the places she skipped originally).

I am in utter shock that this facility has such high ratings after the service I got. I now have a chemical burn I need to care for from a hydrafacial which is promoted on how GENTLE the service is. After telling her multiple times that I have extremely sensitive skin…

No surprise I will NEVER be returning to this facility for any service. I hope everyone does their research and if you do a facial here,...

I just had an extremely uncomfortable encounter with Carla here at Silk Hands. I had purchased a Groupon and followed instructions to call to make an appointment, then was instructed to schedule online so I did for a Saturday. When I arrived at my appointment we both recognized each other but from where I still do not know, although Carla kept insisting she had “worked on me” before. I honestly do not remember this and have had the same masseuse for years before just recently. Not a big deal but then she told me that Groupons are for new customers. It felt very weird because I honestly do not remember her massaging me. Anyway we moved forward and she then let me know again that I wouldn’t be able to use Groupons with her in the future(yeah, okay lady I get it). I told her I now felt weird as though she was excusing me of trying to scam her and I wouldn’t use it if she didn’t want me to. We got passed that and I began to fill out her paperwork, when then unprovoked she then tells me that her Saturday hours are usually reserved for existing clients and that I should have followed instruction on the Groupon and called (which I had). At this point her physic vomit was too much for me to handle. The bad vibes were so thick in that room that there was no way I was staying and told her that I was now uncomfortable and didn’t know what to do. She did offer to have me reschedule and she would find me a different therapist, or that I get a refund from Groupon. I left. As someone in the business of energy work and healing, as a therapist, and as a human being, I cannot believe she would treat someone with such accusatory and alienating behavior. I was so in need of comfort when I came to her for a massage that all I could do was sit in my car and cry. Oh, she texted to apologize and offered me a free hour facial. No thanks, lady, keep your bad vibes to yourself! Oh, I still don’t remember her, so if I was massaged by her in the past it must have been pretty...

My partner purchased a massage for me as a gift for our anniversary! He knew that I love CBD and I love massages but it can be difficult for me to endure a massage due to my nerves firing off due to a couple medical issues that I have. So, I was super hopeful that I would be able to enjoy the massage and the CBD massage oil actually made it more comforting while she was working on different muscle groups. CBD also has a calming effect on the body and brain. And, when I first contacted Karla, she was absolutely helpful and accommodating. She was patient and answered all my questions and made sure to ask what I wanted out of this massage. Karla was professional and also very good with her practice in massage. I've had several professional massages and this by far was the absolute best, she was able to stretch and work through areas with the right amount of pressure and it was noticeable how beneficial the massage, even days afterwards. She was also very kind and personable, she was compassionate and made sure to check in with how the pressure was and was absolutely fantastic at what she was able to do in this massage. She uses the same brand I do of CBD creams and oils that I normally get through my family's chiropractor in Woodland and I really love the brands line of products, so that was a bonus. She was also very attentive and evenly massaged throughout the entire body, she was very thorough and detail orientated, which was an absolute delight from what I had been previously accustomed to when getting a massage. I will absolutely be going back and I highly recommend her. Honestly, I can't recommend her enough.
