This place is very near my home (just over a mile away), and so I decided to give it a try after getting a $5 off coupon at Safeway (for a large pizza). I ordered a large ash chicken buffalo ranch pizza from their pizza menu.
So the good and bad about this experience.
The pizza came with a considerable amount of toppings and had plenty of curry flavor. The pie was well cooked, there wasn't an inordinate amount of crust, and was ready in the 20 minute window they had promised. On the other hand...
I've never had a curry pizza before, and I'm not sure how well the curry flavor meshed with the other ingredients. It wasn't bad, but I'm not sure it's my thing. Also, the pizza seemed a bit salty, and I found myself quite thirsty after eating this pizza. The pizza I got was a "large," but it really looked more like a medium size pizza (it's listed as a 14 inch pizza). Considering that the normal price for this pizza is $30 (before tax), that struck me as a bit expensive. I might eat here again, but only with the $5 off coupon. Next time I'll try the Seattle Seahawk special, which I don't believe comes with curry, coriander, cilantro or any other typical Indian spices.
All in all, my experience here wasn't terrible, and given it's convenient location, I'll almost certainly try this place again.
One last thing... I know this sort of behavior has become very prevalent, but it's annoying to get presented with some pretty ridiculous tip default options when ordering a pick up item. In this particular case, I think the tip options were 20%, 25%, 30%, 35% and customized. Those options would be absurd if I was dining in, but for a pick up order it's flat out annoying. Other than that, the servers working here seemed pleasant enough (and did a fine job cutting up my pizza into slices and placing...
Read moreIn a small unlikely corner of a small unlikely town there is an explosion of flavor and excellent family determination! A curry pizza place? I had never heard of such a thing. I am greeted by a man who has a lot of work in his life, it had been a hot day, I mean really hot and the killer sun had spent a good part of that trying to get in through that front window. And he looked so happy to see me! I have met people like him, trekking in Thailand, in the mountains of Japan and China. They were ones who helped lift your burden and laughed when you offered money. But I digress, the wraps were like biting into another world. You become used to bland wraps or savory burritos, but this was an entirely different creature! Your teeth sink into these and your perspective on the world changes. The bright unexpected blast of flavor shifts your world axis just a little. And really, they do that for under $10! This is what we need! More ambassadors who capture our hearts through food. I would have loved some Bollywood music! Let’s do it!
Now on to the fries. We got the Bollywood fries and as I opened the bag I realized I had made a mistake. These do not travel well. By the time I got home they had steamed down to mush and were quite unappealing. Unless I drove home with the bag and box open I would not get this again. I’m sure they are great if eaten right away. Good food and imagination and determination are a lot like mushrooms. They suddenly pop up in the most unexpected places! Mushroom hunting will find you not only amazing food, but truly...
Read moreWhere to start! Okay, first impression walking through the door I was greeted by a very friendly young man. Smiles seem to be a rarity in a lot places, but he was personable and showed emotion. That’s big for me stepping into a new place. The atmosphere is a clean and crisp waiting/dining area with the music level at the optimal volume. Enough to hear what was playing but not too loud that it’s a sensory overload. The smell in this place is the most amazing combination I didn’t know I needed. That leads me into the food. First, the toughest critics, 7 and 9 years old girls. They had a Mighty Munch Pepperoni pizza and now it’s both their favorite pepperoni pizza. The crust was crisp yet soft. Great flavor! Second, my square wife living in my oblong world! We had a Mighty Munch Chicken Curry and a Mighty Munch Combo. She isn’t a combo pizza fan, nor into specialty pizzas. I knew she was apprehensive when I opened the boxes, but once the smells hit her she dove right in. My wife doesn’t over indulge EVER, but she couldn’t resist these masterpieces. Now I had to add the brownie dessert pizza and I’m glad I did. Slightly crunchy and chewy. Amazing! Their oven is spot on! Last thing, we left to eat elsewhere, but we drove back so I could go in and thank them for such an awesome experience. I HAVE NEVER felt the urge to do that, but they deserve all the praise I could give. Oh, their ranch! Holy Moly! To all the locals in the area, please protect this gem and get your butt over there to try these works of art. Just grab plenty...
