I’ve been going to this place since high school 2016. Old management and restaurant staff were amazing. After the crash into the building and the new staff, the service is terrible. Food is subpar. I went in today and waited 30 minutes for a booth for my group (6 people) they had their booths filled with groups of two with almost an entire open sushi bar seating. We got seated and had already filled out our sheets. We waited another 15 minutes for the server to acknowledge us and take our sheets. She asked if we would be paying together and we told her no and that there we 4 checks hence 4 different sheets. About 20 minutes go by and we get most of our appetizers. My sister ordered a bowl of white rice and it didn’t come for her hangry 4 year old. We continued waiting another 30 minutes for our food and every time the waitress passed by, she would ignore us and avoid eye contact and never checked on us. We finally get our food after 50 minutes of being officially seated and we did not receive the white rice for the child we ordered for. We try to get the waitress’s attention and wait another 10 minutes for her to acknowledge us and finally after getting up out of our booth to ask, she walks over and gets the rice in about a minutes time. This should have been given to us right when we sat down. We never should have had to wait an hour to get a bowl of white rice. Not to mention we ordered a salmon over rice and the salmon still had skin on it and it was not cut off. Absolutely disgusting. Hours later and all adults who ate sushi are ill with diarrhea and nausea. Disgusting and disappointing. I’ve never had a problem at this restaurant, but I don’t think I will ever return after being a loyal customer...
Read moreMy experience going to sushi at this place was very very stressful. I dont eat sushi every day so im not familiar with all the sushi choices. Firstly I asked for a table was told none were available, however two young ladies came on and were seated at a small table right away.(later in my long wait they were seated at a large table.) I was not happy at that point as everybody who came in after we did including the young girls were served their food long before we were.
I also want to mention my husband is legally blind. This place needs to accommodate the blind with larger menus. so my husband used used my larger phone to blow up the pictures so he could find food items.
We asked for 3 sodas the waiter who told us we needed to sit at the counter forgot, so my husband left the table and asked again for the three sodas. He finally brought them. I had a order of pot stickers served over 10-15 minutes before our food even arrived. When our food finally arrived it was on a huge plate. I then had to figure out who's food was who's very confusing.. By this time I went outside and did not eat anything but my pot stickers.. When I returned my family was done eating. I went to get a To go box, The rude waiter said he needed my payment for the food and he would get me a to go box afterwards.. I told the waiter this was the most stressful meal, I did not even eat he did not care!! Just wanted payment. I personally will never eat at this...
Read moreSushi Chiyo blends the convenience of low-prices with the experience of restaurant sushi. It is master of neither end, and serves as a middle-ground between supermarket sushi (the decent stuff that you can tell is cheap but is still good) and perhaps higher quality (and higher in price) restaurant sushi. I came here hungry and left full and satisfied with barely a dent in my pocket ($30 for three people, and we ate quite a bit. Not bad at all for sushi.)
I will say, also, that I've never had a better Vegas Roll or a better tempura shrimp than here at Sushi Chiyo. Their fried items are hard to beat, and affordable.
My only primary complaints (the reason for this being 4 stars) is that the floors are dangerously slippery in spots and the of the rolls were a touch warm despite being made fresh in front of us, meaning the ingredients themselves are warm.
Side note (this has no bearing on my rating): The conveyor was not active when we went in, sometime in the early noon hours. I do not know if this is a pandemic precaution or not, I just really like the conveyor. However, I equally enjoyed having our entire order arrive on one plate, gorgeously plated and...
