I went into Ulta expecting to be shown a few items that I could purchase but was lucky enough to spend time with Alice who took over an hour to work with me to figure out things that were in my budget I could use to improve on what I already had.
She is a beautiful person, very knowledgeable and considerate of her customers finances. She wanted to know what my biggest issue was and then the budget I wanted to stay within which she did with many more products than I thought possible meaning quality is not as expensive as you think.
I was so happy with the products that she was using I continue to point out things that I would like to work on and in the end chose to buy more, 3 times more 😝
Just three days after my purchase I can see the results from the skin care and the simple changes made to my make up have turned me from feeling like flat cardboard to a multi dimensional canvas and I look 10 years younger.
Did I spend a good chunk of money? Yes I did but I am overjoyed with my purchases because I had given up on quality products because none of them ever seem to show a difference. The Clinique products that were purchased and sampled have truly changed the radiance and evenness of my skin, just way too many things to mention. Lol
I will return to Ulta because of Alice who is now my “go to face girl” because she definitely loves helping people find what is missing in their outer expression, i.e. make up/skin care etc. which it is very important to look as beautiful on the outside as we feel on the...
Read moreI went to Ulta with a very specific purchase in mind as I had already looked online and found the product I wanted to be in stock. But I didn't take note of the brand, nor do I frequent beauty supply stores, so I was going to browse until I found it.
I told the woman who greeted me that I was looking for a salicylic acid serum thinking I would be pointed in the right direction and that would be the end of the interaction. Instead I was passed off to a sales associate to whom I again requested salicylic acid serum or solution. She asked what it was for and I revealed I intended it for my scalp (would she have found my serums if I'd concealed their purpose? Perhaps, but we can't know now). She searched on her device and found that the only salicylic acid products available in the store were like the two pictured from Bondi Boost and Verb, but that there were no serums or solutions.
As the picture shows, I purchased salicylic acid serums which I found on the other side of the store. And at more than half the price.
I'm not shaming the employee, I have every reason to believe she was just doing her job and that if she'd had the knowledge to help me she would have. It is an intentional design by her corporate overlords to manipulate us, the consumers, into spending more money by not informing us of all our options. Consumers be wary, and...
Read moreI never ever do reviews. I’m a busy mom and I don’t have time. But this place rubbed me the wrong way today. I went in for some face oil and foundation with my baby. I noticed the two items I needed were marked up more expensive than I remember it being. I’ve recently also seen it almost $5 cheaper at Whole Foods or on Amazon. I don’t shop ulta often so idk their policies on price matching do I thought I’d ask. There was a group of associates chatting and I felt like I was annoying them by saying excuse me and asking if they price matched. They said no and that is totally fine but then they snickered behind my back as I walked away. I heard one of them ask another associate if they price matched and they laughed at it in a mocking manner. It was just a simple question, I guess I’m sorry I asked. Like I said, not familiar with all of their policies and a lot of retailers will price match.
I still was going to buy something until one the gals in the group I had asked the question to earlier just straight glared at me as I walked by. I decided to take my business elsewhere and put back the product on the shelf. Bummer this is the customer service I was...
