I prefer the downtown library. This one is helpful in a pinch when you need to print on the run or use a computer or sit and read and write - although it is small. But I do think they could spare a little counter space for voter pamphlets which to me seems really to be well within the purview of the library's mission to the community -- the downtown branch has done this. But the 2 counter librarians here looked at me like I was crazy when I asked! "Those are mailed to you" the older one said. (I gave mine away to someone else who need one so I'm looking for a replacement.) I said the downtown library has had them before and they just stared at me. (This after "we" including myself voted to fund the libraries too -- so it is a bit surprising!) I think the librarians here need a bit more training or maybe someone with a library science degree also...
Read moreYeah, the Vancouver Mall Library closing time for Friday’s says 6:00pm. I arrived around 5 minutes before to pick up an item I had sent to them here on reservation. And drove all the way here, for them to lock there doors before 6:00pm. And then they walked up to the already locked door, and kindly said, sorry we’re closed man. Last I checked when a business says they’re open until a certain time, that means there doors are open to the public until that time.
