What a great beach! Really clean sand, had a lifeguard right near the entrance to the beach. People were friendly and respectful of each other's space and things. There was fishing and surfing, laying in the sun, and happy dogs walking up and down the beach. Most dogs were leashed unless they were running into the wet sand/water with their owners right next to them. Plenty of dog waste bags at the entrance/parking lot as well. Read moreEven with the new restrictions on dogs, this is still a really nice beach to take the family (including dogs, but only on-leash).
Besides the nice, wide sandy beach, there is also a restroom and shower to rinse-off. Also, right across the street is a quaint shopping/dining district. There are no other confessions or amenities on the actual beach and I don't think overnight camping is allowed.

Read moreIt's convenient because it's walking distance to the harbor village, so you can do the beach and then go across the street for food, gift shops, arcade, or catch the trolley that goes to downtown for free. Lots of free parking, quiet beach. The only thing, the water is rough on that side, with alot of rocks they hurt your feet! good for surf but for little kids it's Kinna harsh. Kinder waters by the pier or on state beaches. But lots of perks...
