I called and asked if they had the Descender comic volumes 3 and 4 available in their store. When the owner/shopkeep answered the phone they told me that only volume 2 was out and the others hadn't been released yet. I asked if he was sure and he said absolutely. I knew they had been released and that you could buy them online so I called a few other local comic shops. I found that all of them knew of and carried volumes 3 and 4. Since this store was the closest to where I lived, I called back and told him what I had found out and asked him to double check for me since I would have liked to pick them up there. Instead of helping, he told me to just go pick them up at another store and hung up on me. The person on the phone was short, rude, and rather unintelligent. I will definitely never set foot in this store and would recommend others don't either until they improve their knowledge and customer service. I would highly recommend visiting Graham Crackers Comics of Wheaton instead. They were a tremendous help even though they are an additional 10...
Read moreI can say in all honesty that this is the best comic shop that I am aware of in the Chicagoland area. Open since 1982 and have continually championed through the ever fluctuating comic book market! I'm in there every wednesday for new releases that the owner and staff have ready and waiting for me! They may not deal heavily in Trade paperbacks but they do however put together and package the original multi issue classic story arcs at unbeatable prices! They also have a selection of back issues that blow away any of the competitors(I was able to collect X-Force 1-30 for UNDER cover price!) In the rare case that I haven't been able to find an issue amongst their massive catalogs, the friendly staff have often been able to track down the comic through their fellow dealers, ready for me to pick up in time for my weekly visit. Unicorn is what every comic book store should...
Read moreI've been living in the Lombard/Villa Park Area for nearly half my life, and have been going to this Comic Shop for nearly just as long. While not like Graham Crackers It has a back stock that can rival most comic book stores in the area. You can find mostly all of the currently released comics but due to the fact of low customer traffic some titles might be a couple issues behind. If your into trading cards I believe their game of choice is "Magic The Gathering" but there might be others. Being a family owned store the staff is extremely friendly and always willing to shoot the breeze. The comic book shop is just a small street away from the prairie path and is a nice little place to check out while on a nice trek. This place is one of the last true blue comic book stores, and I would love to see it flourish even more, so don't just take my word for it. Go...
