Once upon a time, one dreary Sunday, I was fighting a chemically induced headache, I then came upon a storefront that displayed only a simple sign of “I ❤️ Frys” which intrigued me. Unfortunately, it was not open; but a quick 12 months later, I find myself walking through its glistening new doors with optimism. (Note, the intentional misspelling plural of fries is respect to the storefront name)
Tonight my friends and I feasted one not just one, but seven different types of French fry combinations each more tantalizing than the last. Included was the Classic salt and pepper frys, gravy frys with bacon, Mac and cheese frys, cheese frys with bacon, gumbo frys, garlic and Parmesan frys, and pie frys as a dessert. All with different personalities and characteristics but all still brilliant, even for someone not under the influence of any chemical.
Salt and Pepper frys: What can I say but these are a stand alone classic fry exemplifying the fries natural golden color and crispy outside and soft inside. A throwback to an after school treat with friends at the local peach pit. Mac and Cheese frys: Not their strongest competitor as the Mac and cheese is cautiously under seasoned. It would work well with buffalo or BBQ sauce, but not a stand alone. Cheese Frys with Bacon: The bacon came in strips which, based on opinion, could hinder the fry eating experience as each bite is not uniform in flavor. Now I will only have 6 bites with a large string of bacon to accompany it. The sauce is slightly zingy, as pointed out by the acute pallet of my friend Gretchen, and as imagined much like the nacho cheese at a baseball game that comes from a can. Delectable in its own right, in my opinion. Gumbo fries: A combination of the salt and pepper with a savory andouille sausage gumbo that lacks spice but not flavor. A safe and delicious harmony of beans and tomatoes and spice that would please most and notably feels most like a meal. Gravy Frys: This was a debate between us as to if it was more like poutine fries (the Canadian staple) or more like chicken and waffles with black pepper gravy. Either way it can be swung with the addition of chicken or bacon depending on the time of day or mood. I would encourage this combination as it was a good one in any capacity. The sauce was thick and peppery with small pieces of sausage in the sauce. Garlic and Parmesan: Hands down the crowd pleaser and the favorite amongst the group. Flavor was thorough and consistent between bites and was followed with a nice garnish of cheese on top. Easily eaten alone and not soggy because the frys are coated lightly with a garlic and dry garlic oil that hold up well throughout the eating experience. Lastly the Pie frys: I was skeptical about these as it seemed contradictory, the idea of frys and sugary toppings. I was pleasantly surprised as the unsalted frys held the topping well and melted in your mouth with a cherry crumble resemblance.
As I reminisce over the night’s meal over a full but sweet stout beer I will tip my hat to the brilliant entrepreneurs that can combine such creative sweet and salty flavors to these seemingly simple ingredients. This is a must visit location that boasts a local feel, but a notable google...

"I LOVE FRYS in Villa Park is a spud-tacular experience! This place has turned the humble potato into an art form. From the moment I walked in, the aroma of fresh-cut, crispy, golden fries hit me like a ton of bricks – the good kind, like winning the lottery or finding out your in-laws canceled their visit.
Last week, I tried the Jibarito fries, and they were out of this world. The combination of fries, sautéed onions, cheese, meat, and fried plantain is what I’ve needed my entire life. This was my third time here, and I can say that every visit has been more amazing than the last – and I’m talking about the kind of amazing that makes you want to write sonnets to potatoes.
I’ve also tried the Villa cheesesteak fries, which put a traditional Philly cheesesteak to shame. Seriously, Philly, take a seat. The Greek fries are ridiculous – that Greek sauce made in-house might as well be a controlled substance. And the best of the best? The gyros fries! Hands down, the best gyro meat and tzatziki sauce these lips have ever tasted. It’s like a Greek god descended from Mount Olympus and decided to open a fry shop.
The variety is mind-boggling – it's like a potato's wet dream. And the toppings? I had fries with bacon, cheese, and a drizzle of ranch that could make even the staunchest dietitian reconsider their life choices. I even heard someone order fries with Nutella. Nutella! Only at I LOVE FRYS could this fry-lliant idea come to life.
The staff? Fry-nomenal. They’re like the potato whisperers, knowing exactly how to make your taste buds do a happy dance. If you love fries, and I mean REALLY love fries, this place is your crispy, crunchy paradise. Just be prepared – you might leave with a new appreciation for the versatile tuber and a slight addiction to their fry-tastic creations. Consider this my official fry-day...
Read moreI am a 1st time Customer and Reviewer, it’s Sunday late afternoon May 17th, 2020 kinda cold wet and raining, I was getting hungry but didn’t want to cook or make anything even a quick drive through for a fast food place wasn’t going to do it (don’t do fast food unless it’s really urgent) when I remembered my friend saying “You need to try I Love Fry’s” so I called them and talked to a very nice woman and told her I never eaten or tried anything from here but was recommended by a friend, she explained how everything works (Covid-19) and not having a menu to look at told me what they have, I placed my order and paid for it over the phone and she said it’s going to be ready in less than 5 minutes and it was! The drive home with the smell of the food was too much and I opened up the container and grabbed a small handful of my dinner, I got their Ribbies and Fry’s and was blown away! Thought because I was hungry was the reason it tasted so good, (I am very picky about my French Fry’s) got home and reopened it put everything on a dinner plate and dug in, it still tasted good very good. Their Ribs were cooked perfectly and cut into bite size portions, and again their Fry’s are great. I am being serious and if you haven’t tried this place you should, I saw the sign “Opening Soon” with the Windows covered up like everyone else seems like it was up forever and assumed yeah right, another Failed New place to eat in Villa Park, however they did and it’s been worth the wait. I am giving 5 Stars ✨ to them and their food. I will be back trying some of the other Combinations but if they taste anything like what I had today I won’t be...
