Penland Dining Hall — Restaurant in Waco

More variety than other cafeterias, but lower quality. I like the food. I usually overlook occasional rudeness of staff, but one of the staff members is consistently very rude, which does not diminish the quality of the food, but it is still annoying. My main complaint, which should probably be directed at Baylor instead of the cafeteria, is that Baylor is very eager to shut down every cafeteria as soon as possible around any break. Today for example, this cafeteria closed at 2:00 PM and will not reopen. Final exams are not even over yet and since Baylor is paid massive amounts of money (more than universities of higher academic quality) by students, they can afford leaving it open for several extra hours for students who cannot afford food off campus, who cannot leave campus for another couple days, and rely on the cafeterias for food. Penland offers the most variety out of all of Baylor's dining halls. There is something for everyone there. Once, they even had shrimp tacos. My favorite is the Mediterranean falafel pita, but the Angus burgers practically taste gourmet. The staff are all friendly and personable, are always up for some friendly banter, and recognize (and greet) repeat visitors warmly. And once a week, the friendly campus dietician does station takeovers. Penland is great, and it's also really close to North Village, the Russells, Castellaw, Sid Rich, and Marrs Maclean Science. Worked here for a little over a month. It's a toxic work environment at first it seems nice but ppl act nice to ur face then lie to the managers behind your back. I was fired for not getting a long with workers. When it was a specific working sum old lady who likes to boss people around even when she has no authority. She has done it to every new person. She's lazy and she has no boundaries. I reported her and so has others and yet she still there while I'm tryna find my next paycheck. Work here...
