Not Recommended for regular performing musicians. This place caters to the fringe of our society and if you happen to be in the 90% Club which most of us are you'll get second or third priority. Example: Verbally agreed on a specific date for our performance at the beginning of June but when I went to check on it a week later he had given that day away to some transvestite burlesque show and then that changed to Dungeon & Dragons or some other quirky or goofball off the wall presentation.
So we got the end of June but guess what that was squeezed in after some other kind of oddball event that happened in the afternoon where we barely have any time to come in and set up our stuff. We had a rehearsal schedule for 3:00 in the afternoon on April 19, 2025, but at the last minute the owner wanted to change it to 4:30 because he felt that the people making monster paintings and Vampire exhibits took a high priority over us and we needed to be pushed back to the 4:30 spot.
When we arrived at our rehearsal on April 19th 2025 we found out that well, it wasn't going to be a typical professional rehearsal because the people involved in the vampires and the Macabre artwork .. well they were going to have these people messing around moving stuff causing commotion talking and making noise the whole time during our rehearsal.
Because of this I told the other members of our group maybe we need to secure the other rehearsals before our performance so we can have a normal rehearsal.
As we were in the office trying to pin down some rehearsals in the middle of this important discussion the owner took a phone call left both me and another band member hanging as he proceeded to lock down another sales call at our expense and our inconvenience.
The owner of manager of the Performing Arts Center Waco is obviously new doesn't know what he's doing doesn't know how to treat others respectfully,...unless they are not in the 90% crowd and I don't need to explain what that is if you're in the 90% crowd that means you're in the majority and if you're not in the 90% crowd then you already know who you are usually you belong to a bunch of alphabet letters or something similar.
So if you're a man that likes to put lipstick on and wear a dress you'll be treated with high priority and do fantastic with this venue. On the other hand if you have an amazing amount of talent that most people don't have and you want to present a show that's very unusual but mainstream, you'll be treated with disdain by the owner of this organization.
Again I highly recommending avoiding the Performing Arts Center in Waco unless you want a lot of grief and to experience a lot...
Read moreFor me it wasn't worth it. A crochet class....neat. I would have liked to know about the metal sticks (hook) we got, what the numbers (size) on the side was, what type of yarns there are and a stand up visual of what to do. Even a paper that I could read on how to do a single crochet would have been really nice. Yes she was patient and kind but I figured out what to do from watching a YouTube video while there. It wasn't worth the $25. I can buy the materials at some places for $2! Easy...
Read moreI had the opportunity to attend a crochet workshop here and it was wonderful! Claire is so informative and kind, and sat down with everyone individually to help them on their needs! It’s also such a cute and cozy space. I hadn’t even seen the rest of the building but there was already a line out the door for the event they were holding. And to add, the food smelled phenomenal! Will...
