This is some really good quality milktea! The boba was cooked to perfection, which is hard to come by in most chain boba shops. Only 1102 and Waco Cha have really good boba, as far as I've tried in Waco. I like that there is a variety of milk substitutes, and that you can get most of it unsweetened. If you are on keto, or a low sugar diet, I would definitely recommend coming here, as there is no residual sugars unless you get boba (as it sits in a sugary sweetener). They also have kid sizes which is great for trying something if you're unsure of what you may like. The waco cha was decent, though I do wish the black tea was a bit stronger, as I couldn't taste it very much through the half n half (I love much stronger brewed teas, personally). I also picked up notes of coconut in what I thought was a straight black milktea, so I couldn't have my husband taste it, as he's allergic to coconut. Either I misunderstood the menu, misordered, or didn't ask enough questions as to which ingredients go into it. I was under the impression that the wacoco had coconut and the waco cha did not. I did love the matcha chatte, they have a pretty good grade of matcha that is not cut with milk or sugar additives like most milkteas served in waco, so it's worth the extra dollar (good grade matcha tends to be more expensive, anyhow) The woman at the counter was super friendly, knew the menu well, and helped us find some keto friendly options, as well as reducing the amount of boba so I could taste it while still in my macros. I love all boba shops and the different aspects each brings to the bubble tea culture. I love 1102, and even work there, but the keto friendly options are very limited to just plain unsweet tea, unsweetened centella, and black coffee due to the way the drinks are made. My god did I miss milktea on this diet!! I will definitely come back to Waco Cha and show my appreciation for their keto...
Read moreBased on Google, this is the best milk tea shop in this area, and I would have to say yes since there’s not a lot of options. I was only visiting Waco and wanted to try Cha Community and their milk tea. I’m asian so I support Asian-owned business. The location was nice, it’s clean, plenty of seating, staff are friendly. The milk tea itself were good! I tried two.
Iced Matcha with Boba 10/10 I love their matcha, it tastes high quality. The tapioca boba is also good!
Pandan Milk Coconut Tea 6/10 I was so excited to see a familiar flavor that I grew up with. Pandan! However, I was disaappointed. It tasted like a canned coconut water drink, there was no creaminess or milky about it. I wanted to throw it away but because it’s almost $8 for this, I finished it but won’t recommend, and I am a coconut and pandan lover myself. I hope to come back and try maybe just adding the pandan flavored syrup to my matcha or regular brown sugar milk tea.
Takoyaki 6/10 It’s not THAT bad, but I think how it was presented to me, it is more likely a frozen takoyaki from asian mart that you heat up in the microwave. It was flat on the other side rather than rounded all throughout. I also don’t know if they just ran out of the toppings but there was uneven amount of mayo/kewpie. Only one side of my takoyaki has mayo. Also, where is the bonito flakes??? It’s more like bonito dust! Because there were barely any. Who knows, maybe they ran out that day (Saturday lunch time 1pm)
I also noticed there isn’t any Taro flavored drink? That’s like one of the essential flavors when you go to an Asian milk tea/boba shops. I’m surprised they have it as seasonal only. I hope they add Taro flavor as permanent on their menu. Overall, I’m just happy that there is something like this in Waco. Hope to see more unique and underrated...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to try Cha for the first time because I’ve been wanting to go somewhere that had (supposedly) good matcha. I ended up getting the strawberry matcha along with my boyfriend getting the fried dumplings and cucumber salad. Keep in mind that we both have never been here before so we took a while to order. The guy that was on register barely had any customer service and personally if I were taking someone’s order I would’ve given them recommendations. I also got the milk cap (I think that’s what it’s called) with my matcha and I'm not sure if you can even get it with that (the guy never told me anything he just charged me for it) but he never even put in on my drink. I ended up paying $20 for the food and drink when I didn't even think it was worth it. The dumplings were soggy and kept falling apart along with it being it a big cardboard box that wasn’t even presentable as if it was a decent amount of food. As we were eating this other customer was waiting for over 5 minutes to place her order because the guy wasn’t...
