Olive Garden Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Waco

I have a gluten allergy and I'm used to servers and staff rolling their eyes when I ask for a gluten free menu. Quite the opposite here. Our server was very accommodating. The manager on duty, Emily, came out to assure me of how my food would be handled (unheard of). The food was excellent, fast and served with many smiles. I will definitely attend anyone's birthday lunch here! Our server Kate I was amazing! She took the best care of us. She was super attentive, gave great recommendations and was so much fun to talk to! The food was excellent and the drinks were on point! Absolutely amazing customer service. My delivery order got cancelled after my food left the store and they completely refunded me! They also allowed me to place a pickup order 30 min before they closed, and the manager payed for my dessert! I am so pleased with their kindness. I love the staff here, they are always so kind, 10/10 :).One of my favorite places to have lunch/dinner with friends and family. Favorite dish Shrimp Alfredo with Broccoli!!! And side of course salad !!! This place always has great customer service our waiter was very nice and friendly always made sure we didn’t need anything else. Thank you (elijah) .Me and few friends came in to this Olive Garden and we heard bad things about this restaurant but I don’t care what I heard at this point. We had the best waitress, I think her name was Shae or Chaylen. She is the reason we will be back. The only thing that left a bad taste in our mouth and almost brought us to the point of saying something to the Manager was some young kid that worked there was talking bad about our waitress behind her back to our table. Which I thought was so unprofessional. So to the young lady that we had, if you see this. Thank you for being a bright smile after we all had a long day at work. As for Olive Garden, train your people to be more professional, you are in the service of customer care, not petty stuff like talking someone else down to lift yourself up.Food was delicious and customer service was great!!! The young lady that helped us was very kind and respectful. Food came out in time and was hot and delicious.I have to give a shout out I told the server I had a sea food allergies they went above and beyond to make sure I was safe when I ate my lunch. Thanks guys. It was amazing to eat there today. I've been to a few olive gardens and none of them compared to this one. I know a lot of ppl harp on O garden saying not authentic Italian and that's fine but it doesn't take away how delicious it is. My daughter and I love the place. Always have a very attentive,helpful ,smiling and nice waitress. Food always comes out quickly and for my soups I like mixing 2 different kinds, when I get the soup they have no problem mixing them for me. Any questions I've asked never seem like they didn't care and a rushed answer just to get you moving along. Justice was the best server! My drinks and breadsticks stayed full the whole time! This location has been EXCELLENT at verifying that the menu items that individual has chosen are free from his allergen. A manager always comes out to check things with us once we alert the server to the presence of allergies. They've answered our ingredient questions and double checked things for us. I have cut eating out down to special occasions only. Today my daughter enrolled in college, very special because she had put it off for 8 years, and now finally decided on her career path. We have been eating at this OG since she was a baby and is now 30. I've cordially known the managers as I know now. We decided OG would be the place, our spot. We arrived around 1:45 and were seated, the a/c was very cold at that table so we asked our server if we could get another booth away from the a/c, if I'm this cold my food will also get cold quickly. She said she has to check with the hostess and did, she said there were no more available booths and escorted us to a table. We sat down again and once again were under the direct cold air from the vent. We again asked to be moved and we were put near the window and were much more comfortable. We placed an appetizer and drink order. When the server returned with those items we placed our order for our entre. The ravioli were fried very hard, the cheese sticks were alright. We had ordered soup and a salad to accompany our entre, which we had to wait a long time to get the salad. We actually had to ask our server for our soup and refills on our drinks. My daughter ordered the new dish with shrimp and steak medallions and asked for medium well on the steak. They finally arrive and the first bite was good, she said it was good but probably wouldn't order again. She cut into the next bite and there was blood coming from the steak so it was rare which she will not eat. We waited for our server to come back and finally I had to get up to ask someone else to please send our server. That time of day the restaurant was not that busy. Our server came and we showed her the issue with the steak, she said she'd have to get the manager. We waited again and the manager arrived. She offered to have them refire the meat but by now my daughter no longer had an appetite for that entre, we asked to exchange it for another entre which she did. By now my entre is cold but I'm now full of cheese sticks, salad, and breadsticks. I order another entre to go for my husband which we waited for a period of time and we asked for to go boxes for our food. We were given dessert boxes to put full entres into. I explained that I needed a regular sized to go box and was told she didn't have any she would have to ask up front (the bar), I said who do I need to ask for a to go box. Finally we were given the appropriate sized to go boxes. We did not leave until 3:30 and not because we stayed to visit but because that's how long it took the staff to serve us. My husband and I work in the food service management so we couldn't spend Easter day with our daughters in fact we worked all day, ironically with no time to eat, I got home at around 8pm broke my heart to see my daughters had to spend the whole day watching kids through the windows enjoying their Easter, so we decided to take them to their favorite place of course OLIVE GARDEN, as we sat down I asked the server politely i needed to have some sugar in my system bcs of the situation mentioned, I asked her if she could get us a quick appetizer she didn't seem emphatical so I shook it off, told her we wanted to order as soon as she was ready, (to not interrupt whatever she might needed to get done before) we both ordered a $20+ meal, my girls a kids meal, she comes back with literally HALF A PORTION of a salad given how tired and starving we were I asked for more salad, she said she couldn't bcs of something she couldn't explain (her assuming beforehand I was going to share with my daughters) asked for the mger, mger comes back giving me excuses bigger than the server was giving me, I said I feel like u guys are not listening I don't want excuses I want to eat, they refused and told me they were going to charge for the drinks we have had consumed so far which it was one glass each other and a fourth of the half salad we were given for my hubby and me! Like I said I worked almost 2 decades in food industry I know giving my ENDLESS SALAD wouldn't have broke their bank instead they ruined my daughters last hope of saving the day, SHAME ON THEM. Next time think of what a bad day someone could've had and TRY TO B THE DIFFERENCE NOT ANOTHER PROBLEM!!! P.S. we are outstanding tippers that used to visit this place...
