Action Jaxx — Attraction in Waldorf

We recently hosted a birthday party at Action Jaxx. The website indicates 2 hours of non stop fun for the package we selected. Little did I know, it didn’t include 2 hours in the party room. I found out 3 days prior that access to the party room is only for 1.5 hours of the 2 hour timeframe and this was because I called the center to confirm other details.

I received a text the night before indicating the same. Extending my time was not an option and at this point it was too late to cancel.

We arrived at the center 20 minutes early and was only allowed access to the room at the time the party started. Once we entered, they were still setting up the room.

The day of, the owner, Kris, seemed annoyed with being asked questions or for clarification on certain things and was avoiding dealing with me and always directed me to the party host instead.

Everything was rushed. We literally had to eat in a jiffy, sing happy birthday quickly and get out of there for them to set up for another birthday party.

All in all, this is a great spot for kids to have fun but I would not recommend hosting a birthday party unless they adjust some things (set up and break down time, extending party room time, etc.) or be clear about specific details on their website. As well as, be more approachable with customers.

Nice place but wouldn’t recommend for a birthday party. There are no hosts working party rooms, one employee working front desk on a busy Saturday when there’s a party. Very disorganized. In their birthday package they say they will decorate the party room for you. I dropped the party decor off a day before the party to still see a box of banners and decor unused. The night prior I asked them to set it all up. I was assured they would. I got there 10 minutes after the booked party time only to be told I can set it up how I want. How will I decorate when there’s already guests there and I have children to entertain? So now I wasted money on decorations I can’t use. We had to find the employee and ask for the party bags since people were leaving (these & popcorn are included in the package we got) Seems to be a shortage of staff issue. I hosted my son’s 4th birthday at Action Jaxx this past Sunday and everything was perfect. They are reasonably priced and the party package is really all you need. It even included goodie bags which I didn’t pay attention to, but it just made for double the treats for our guests. The staff were polite and professional. Ahead of the party communication was very clear and professional as well. I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. It wasn’t just your average kid party venue rental. At Action Jaxx you really get a wonderful party experience. We opted to add on a character and the interaction and engagement with the kids was amazing. They had little activities and games planned and the announcements over the speaker system were a great touch. My son has not stopped talking about his party and that’s really all I could ask for.
