I am SO excited to have a place like this in Waldorf!! I'm a big tea lover and milk/bubble teas even more so and we are starved for options in this area. This place is better than I could have even dreamed of.
The interior, first of all? Gorgeous. Fantastic use of space without feeling either cramped or empty. It's clean & comfortable and just super well designed all around. There's a lot more here than just the menu, too! Lots of cute little trinkets and food items are for sale on some of the cutest shelving I've ever seen in Waldorf. The seating, I have to mention, is fat friendly! The chairs are wide and without restrictive armrests and have a gentle curve to them that feels comfortable even as a plus size person, and the benches are open and wide and easy to get in and out of. As someone who's been a fat person my whole life, I'm well acquainted with the subtle ways something as innocuous as seating can tell me I'm not wanted somewhere. Coco Bay's furniture choices tell me openly that I'm a valued customer and as a result, I feel comfortable and safe eating there. The value of that can't be understated.
And the food itself? Oh my god. I'm in heaven. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would. Peach is one of my favorite fruit flavors on the planet and their Lychee Peach tea? Drink of the Gods. I can't wait to drink my way through their menu! I've always wanted to try a bánh mì and I can safely say I've found a new favorite sandwich. I had mine with pork and a friend egg and I absolutely pass that recommendation on, though they have a ton of options, including tofu! I can't wait to try all of their food.
The staff are wonderful and knowledgeable; I asked them how I should experience my first bánh mì and as you can tell, I was not disappointed. They're so so sweet and kind and made me feel completely comfortable asking questions.
10/10, 5/5, 100/100. I will be back and I'm telling everyone I know to...
Read moreOnly been here twice. The ambiance is nice. First time was nice, even met the owner. maybe because we ordered to eat in the restaurant. Visited again yesterday, and I wanted to give the cashier benefit of the doubt because I made a big order, yet she repeated it to me word for word! I asked for two Garlic noodles, 6 egg rolls, and two fried rice bowls.. she repeated all of this word for word so I didn’t check the receipt. Apparently there was some confusion about how many egg rolls I wanted? The other young lady with the bangs was nice and tried to correct it, so I didn’t check the bag again because I was for sure I got what I paid for (added to the order and made me pay again) and they corrected the mistake.. nope.. still went home with 4 egg rolls but paid for 6! And the original cashier had forgotten to add the second bowl of garlic noodles but repeated that I wanted two bowls back to me before I paid initially so I had to pay for that again (so now this is the third time my card is getting charged for this one order) and wait even more. Not sure I’ll be back just based off that encounter, waiting and paying three times in the establishment for this one order was nerve racking especially since I had my entire family waiting in the car. Food is good, STAFF IS NICE, just double check your food to make sure you have your entire order before you leave. They also do not have a diaper changing station in...
Read moreI will start by saying when this place initially opened I was very pleased with the service and the food. I've frequented this place numerous times and every time I go back the service and quality of the food gets worse.
Today will be my last time visiting this place. I did an online order and was told it would be ready for pick up at 6:30. I arrive at the establishment and was told my food was being bagged and I would be next. 20 minutes later and 5 people who ordered at the register later, my food still wasnt done. I asked how much longer and she informed me they were just wrapping up the chicken skewers, mind you the whole time the rest of my food was just sitting on the counter. 10 minutes later still no skewers.... she then is talking to her chef and guess what?! the skewers were never made or they gave them to someone else.
My issue is that 30 minutes of my time was wasted due to either a lack of communication and/or a lack of oversight on how to bag food. At no point did the cashier check on the order and it wasnt until I said something that she decided to go look into it.
To add to it, my bowl of rice and meat was very dry, the tea was way too sweet and the only thing they offered in place of the skewers was to either wait for a new batch or get a free drink. After paying over $60 and tipping to get this poor quality food and service, I will not...
