I wish I could give Michigan Escape Room more than just 5 stars - this place was great!
In the past 24 hours, I've done Misfortune, Elevator, and Amnesia. Each room was unique and fun. These were my first escape room experiences, and they didn't disappoint.
Misfortune (4 people in our group) - The room, props, and pacing of the story were great for a first escape room experience. The room itself was more than I initially expected, which was a pleasant surprise.
Elevator (4 people) - The motion element really made the story believable. Starting off in two separate groups and then rejoining later in the experience made good communication crucial.
Amnesia (2 people) - There were lots of puzzles in this room, and it would probably have been easier to do with more people. It made it challenging with just 2 people, but we still made it out.
I have to give a HUGE shoutout to Dylan, our GameMaster - he was amazing! He was very friendly from the start, cracked jokes with us, and was helpful (but not too much so) with clues when we needed them. He was our GameMaster for all three of the rooms, and I hope to get him again when I go back!
One of the biggest pluses to this place is that you don't have to be put in a room with total strangers - as long as you have the minimum number of people for the room, you're good.
I will definitely be back for more rooms when I can find people to drag with me (or even better, PLEASE make more 2 person...
Read moreThis was something that my daughter wanted to do since getting here 4 days ago. It is recommended to book online in advance as they don’t have much openings if you just do a walk in. We booked online and it was $28 per person. we did Misfortune and it was a lot of fun. They provided hints throughout which was very helpful. We were a party of 4 so that was enough for the room that we were in. They didn’t give hints off the bat but if time is running out, hints come up on the screen. My daughter love escape rooms so it’s always a treat when we get to go to one. I did enjoy that it was multiple rooms to try to open which was unsuspected. We went to 3 rooms and even had to pour liquid into a big bowl for us to escape the room. Definitely something we would do again. They were also accommodating when we needed to reschedule our appointment when something came up. The workers were friendly and did keep us informed throughout the experience. The place was clean and did show us where the restrooms were before the start of the game. They do sell water for $1 if you’re thirsty and did offer to hang any coats or purses inside the room. A hidden...
Read moreI've done five escape rooms with this company, one at this location. They're great, everyone always has a good time. The rooms are challenging enough to be concerned about the clock, but not so difficult where you can't have the satisfaction of escaping. The themes are executed really well. All the rooms are cool. The asylum at this location was a great room, but I would suggest keeping your group number to maximum eight people. We did it with ten and it felt a little cramped, especially as you get closer to the end and there are only a few things left to work on, so everyone is grouped close together. My group of friends already has plans to finish out the remaining rooms with these guys before trying out other facilities. As they build new rooms, we'll be...
