20230422 Love this park. Unfortunately, I arrived late, right before the storm. 20220820 Strange. The direction took me to a parking lot with a picnic area a trail along the creek that leads to the back of the museum. If you don't want to hike to the museum, be sure to drive to the parking lot next to the museum, where I parked the first time I was here. For me, I'm glad that I ended at this parking lot far from the museum because I got to explore the trails in the back of the museum in the wooded area, that I otherwise would have missed. The Edmojoda West trail started off flat along the creek. There are areas where you can access the creek. The wayer was pretty clear and parents bring their kids there to play in the creek. Because this is the wooded area, there is so much shades. I took the Trail Race trail after I crossed the bridge and immediately turned left. Then took a bridge on my right and hopped onto Old Mill trail. This trail splits into 2 trails with Old Mill trail continues on the right and Salty Grimes trail on the left, and this trail is not recommended for jogging. I followed my dog, Tilly's lead and turned left onto Salty Grimes trail. Most if the trail is narrow, wooded and rocky, with the creek along the trail on the left. There was no one there when I was there, and be very careful. This trail ends into an open farm field, and eventually into a large corn field with paved trail. The paved trail loop around the corn field, cemetery and to the museum. The map to these paved trails can be found on the museum website, but I couldn't find the wooded trails that I hiked. I really enjoyed the hike today. I might come back more often. Don't forget to register your dogs at the visitors center or do it online. The lady who helped me with the online registration was very nice. She quickly sent me the dog tags, which are actually the museum keychains with the registration number written on the back. It should be worn on the dog, but my pups are too little for the Keychain tags. 202201 This park is much larger than I expected. There are some historic buildings, and very dogfriendly trails, paved and unpaved. If you are going to walk your dogs here, you will need to register your dogs online or on paper (mail in or at visitor center) and pay a $5 per dog lifetime membership fee. It's so worth it. I registered my 2 pups and paid online. The entire process was so easy and fast. I got an instant email confirming my registration. I don't know when I'm coming back, but if I'm nearby, I will definitely...

TLDR; Must visit if in the area!

This is a growing local historical site with a rich history and an active restoration effort in effect. The exhibits in the visitor center are engaging, thorough, and peaked my interest even though I'm not particularly a "history lover." You can tell by the amount of detail that went into each exhibit, how much these people care about the things they are doing with this place. There are many pleasant gravel walking trails across the large plot of land. While a mill that once stood in the area is being rebuilt, there is an active construction site and I can't wait to see what comes of the huge undertaking this project must be! The place isn't over commercialized, only having a modest store with reproduction pottery (using original molds!), cute trinkets, drinks and the like. The Refrew House itself was also excellent with (at the time of my visit) each room being decorated as a different time period of Winter holiday celebration. Each exhibit colorfully embodied their respective time periods around the early...

Great place to just get away. Built in the 1700's Renfrew is truly Magical during the holidays and thru the yr they always have some kind of special event. I personally think that the historical society should link up with Renfrew next Christmas and show all the old black & white photos that are framed of Waynesboro's past. It's sad they are just locked up in a room collecting dust. This would be more accurate than having a stock print room of old poker game cards cool yet was a bomb for myself. Wish I could give twrds the Christmas season to really wow the ppl of Waynesboro. I'd rate this event 2017 a 3 star. Home truly needs to be more accurate and I know it's possible. All donations nice yet lacking in execution. Overall everyone...
