This is a historic landmark on the Constitution Avenue, many people would have seen this going to and fro from work! This was a lockkeeper’s house when Constitution Av was a canal and they used to collect tax to enter it! This scenario is so mind blogging to me! That once all of national mall, was Potomac river!

I was here on a Saturday around noon when this place was open and there were rangers inside. They explained about the lock keepers house and what its purpose was back in the day.
