This hotel is well located if you're intent is to visit any part of Foggy Bottom, such as George Washington University, the World Bank, IMF, and related agencies, and the upper end of the monuments along the mall. However, it is a very average pedestrian sort of hotel for a not so average price of more than $300 per night for an OK room accommodating two persons and a child. The room was not worth a photograph. Even the bedside table was short of electrical outlets or places to charge a phone, something that I find utterly thoughtless in this day and age. The pull out bed is simply atrocious. Anyone weigh more than 75 pounds would be quite uncomfortable with the thin pad that cannot be called a mattress and lumpy hard "springs". As Marriott club members, we were initially pleased to have an upgrade to a balcony room until we got to the room and real up the balcony was hemmed in by walls and offered a partial view. If you looked out to the far left side. Not a very pleasant perspective at all. Downstairs the café and food are likewise OK.. Overall, I think one can do much better for a hotel in DC especially in the low season when Congress is not in session and school is out such that the place seems deserted

Although the hotel was in a great location, we were disappointed with our room. I requested a city view. king bed room and when I opened the curtains, I was literally staring at a brick wall. Also, there weren’t any available electrical plugs on one side of the bed so being that both of us require use of a CPAP, I had to find a creative way to plug my medical equipment in at night. Also, the only electronic device plugs were on the one side of the bed. The same side that did have an accessible plug. There were plugs on the front of the couch, but they were not working. The only other plug in the entire room was in the bathroom and 1 by the desk behind the TV. I asked the front desk about the availability of plugs and they stated that they just renovated the rooms and would let the designers know. What??? I am so grateful that I travel with an extended outlet plug. Also, the food at the bistro is extremely overpriced and not very good. We had the breakfast add on with the room rate, but went down the street and paid for breakfast every day except one. Despite all of this, I will add the the rooms were clean and staff were pleasant.

Currently staying here for my last night of a five night trip, but this is my first night here. Wish I could have stayed here from the beginning. The room is quite nice with a king bed, pull out sofa, roll out tv and desk, and new looking bathroom. I love the separate wall for the toilet! It feels like a little apartment. I haven't used many amenities, but there are makeup removal towelettes, shampoo, conditioner, and soap. I wish there was lotion, but thats not a big deal with a little hotel shop in the lobby and several stores in the area. The lobby had a boarding pass printer! Great location! I walked to the whitehouse, lincoln memorial, washinton monument, WWII memorial, and dinner at the Capitol Grill. If anything changes I will update this.

If you are a PERSON OF COLOR please do not stay here. We stood out and it was obvious in the way we were treated. Another family of color who were also given a hard time. It was hard not to notice. This stay was completely horrible. From the moment I arrived at 3am from a 8hr roadtrip the front desk staff was not pleasant to talk to. Almost aggravated with my arrival. She told me that parking was 56 dollars per night which said information was not disclosed during booking time. She was very short when telling me certain things I needed to know. So short that I, my self, the customer had to ask this hotel employee the check out time. She also did not inform me that she was placing a hold on my credit card (which would have been nice to know). When she was taking down my license plate I asked her "ok and when I get down there?" wondering if there was a specific door I needed to look for she said "well you find a parking spot" in an extremely annoyed tone. The next morning I spoke to another employee hoping to speak to someone the person told me that she would have a manager talk to me. I left as she told me no one was available for me now. On Sunday, when checking out I asked another staff member for the Manager -she then came out to talk to me. She was dismissing everything I had to say and said "We will take action on this". What does this even mean? This two night stay cost me 600 dollar. This isn't how I am supposed to feel specially paying so much money. When I told her that parking was another fee that I wasn't informed until I arrived and I didn't want them to charge the card on file she said "well how were you planning on paying" like my horrible experience didn't mean a thing. Not to one staff. I then took out cash and gave it to her. She gave me back my change and I told her she would hear about this on my reviews. This place made me feel extremely not welcome from the moment I walked in. No wonder Airbnb is stealing the show- People are not pleasant and appreciative of your...

The location was good but the hotel service and accommodations was below average. From the minute I got there, valet was not really attentive. I had to waive him down while he was sitting in the office doing I don’t know what. Must be a thing with their valet staff, because when I was leaving, it was the same thing. Their valet was just not abut customer service. They even parked my SUV in a compact space, where clearly you could not get in or out easily. Trust me, I tried to get something out my car one night and it was almost impossible to open the trunk or any doors. Regarding the front desk/ concierge area, it was really small and barely a space you will call a welcoming area. Not impressed being the first thing you see when you come in the hotel. They had no Bellman service, so you had no help taking all your luggage up to your room. Rooms were roomy but the balcony rooms are not worth the upgrade. There isn’t any view!!! It overlooks other buildings and other rooms. Very claustrophobic!!! Also, do not get the breakfast included upgrade! It was just a small sandwich or burrito that you can get at any gas station- very disappointing. And lastly, they charged me a pet fee, even if my dog was an ESA certified & registered service animal. They told me that their hotel does not consider ESA service animals, but according to FHA law, .emotional support animals are not considered regular pets and are exempt from pet restrictions and fees. I paid for the fees while on my stay because I had no other options, but I reached out to customer service after my stay and they were not helpful at all regarding my concerns or complaint. They just said it was a misunderstanding with the agent that helped me booked my reservation, who didn’t disclosed their guidelines regarding ESAs. Definitely very disappointed in my stay and this hotel. I will not be booking here again. Just seemed overpriced for really just a room with no real hotel services or...

Beware their deceptive pricing! -- they charge a variable night each night based on occupancy and not a single price per night as you think when you book online. The confirmation email hides this information in a nondescript link at the bottom of the long email filled with ads and offers. I booked the room online about a month ago, and was led to believe I would pay $195 per night (with a discount I had through the local university). Upon checking out I saw I was charged a variable rate per night of $195, then $322 then $416, not including state occupancy taxes. When I asked for an explanation I was told the nightly charge is based on nightly occupancy rates, with the more occupants equaling less charges. I have never experienced or even heard of a variable nightly charge in my 50 years, nor was this variable rate made apparent or clear in any way on the Marriott website. I expected to pay $195 per night, as I was led to believe when I booked (not including taxes and fees), and instead of paying $585 plus taxes and fees I was charged $933 plus taxes and fees. That is outrageous and deceptive.

On top of this, I am a Bonvoy member, and company statements say that we members get the "member best price". Is what I was charged the "best price"? I don't see how it can be if it is based on a variable occupancy level. Finally, I had to change rooms at 11 p.m. on my final night because one of my neighbors was smoking marijuana and filled my room with the smoke. None of the employees seemed to care very much, and in the morning I was given a perfunctory, "oh, sorry about that."

I will never stay here again, and never use Marriott again if this variable rate scam is a...
