Stopped in while walking across town. Needed to use the restroom and saw the door with a number lock on it and a sign that said, "Don't ask. Customers only." Weird phrasing, but okay? I thought maybe there was a code that would be printed on the receipt, so I waited for my fiancé to finish placing our order, but no such luck. I went up to the counter to ask about a bathroom code, only for someone to walk right in, because it wasn't actually locked at all. The batista asked if I needed anything, and I explained the situation and apologized, and he looked at me like I was crazy before going back to work.
When I did finally get to the bathroom, there was no toilet paper, just a pile of napkins in a half-full, scrunched up paper bag. Needless to say, it was a less than comfortable experience. While I was in there, I heard a barista call my fiancé's name and order - and before she even finished speaking, the other batista SCREAMED the same name at the top of his lungs.
I had the guava-lime green tea, and my fiancé had the melon melon, both spring specials. They were both quite nice. The guava-lime was very refreshing, and the melon tasted like candy. However, mine was supposed to come with lychee popping boba, and it did not.
The decor is nice. The two drinks we tried are nice. However, the rest of the experience was extremely frustrating, especially after...
Read moreThis is not the most memorable or cool place BUT the combinations and execution of flavors is very impressive. I feel some places have a lot of interesting variety but it falls flat. SecreTea did not succumb to that.
The teas were flavorful and interesting. I think the tall slim base cup made the consumption of toppings (bottomings?) faster even though the ratio of toppings to tea was good.
Guava + Yakult (+Mango Star Jelly): This one is so good. The guava and Yakult are strong flavors and the mango jelly is less punchy which helped. Normally, I'm a half sugar kind of gal. This was definitely a little much at the end but I don't think I would order it less sugar since I don't want less of the flavors.
Pineapple Hawaiian Iced Tea (no ice+ black boba): This one did not fail to impress. It wasn't just a basic Pina colada mix but pineapple and tropical fruity instead. This one was definitely too strong earlier (half way). You have to really like fruit and strong tropical but it's very very good. I would want this at 75% strength. Enjoyed the boba texture and taste. There was a single tiny piece of something hard/minty (but chalking that up to an accident from the holiday options- I would not hold this...
Read moreI'm a huge boba tea fan, so when I saw this place I knew I had to get some! I ended up ordering 2 because I couldn't decide: Cake tea and Yokult guava tea. Pros: cute store, cute vibe. Guava tea was refreshing. Not overly sweet. Cons: Cake tea was bland, tasted like watered down pudding. It was not even cold. I like my boba tea cold. Bathrooms out of order 🙄. I think they just put the sign up because they didn't feel like cleaning. I got there 30 minutes before closing. I didn't want to get in the way of their cleaning duties, I know better, so I sat on an outside table. 20 minutes before closing they came out to tell me I had to get up and leave. I wasn't there past their closing time, and I was OUTSIDE, you can still lock the doors and close the business. It's not like I had dirty plates and silverware to be picked up after I finished my drinks. I was going to clean up after myself. If you're going to kick out your patrons before closing time, maybe just change the store hours!! Not impressed with this place other than...
