Having come from a high-end, boutique gym as a trainer, I totally appreciate this huge warehouse of a gym. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter, just like outside. The equipment is kinda dirty, but guess what - it's heavy. You're paying $68/month. If you need a pristine workout environment then you've got a lot of other options at nearly twice the price.
I appreciate the open floor space, the several squat/power racks, the fact that they have sleds and room to push them, that I Never have to wait for equipment, and the probably 2-story tall ceiling. I'm not crazy about the neglected equipment that piles up in the corners of the floor, the occasionally SUPER loud music (with SUPER loud commercials) and the lack of consistency.
On the last point, sometimes the gym is open during posted business hours, sometimes it's not. Sometimes there's someone at the front desk, but not always. It's very unclear if guests are allowed and, if so, what the policy and cost is – It would appear the front desk staff, if they're there, kinda wing it.
Wednesday afternoon I was literally the only person in the gym. A couple members eventually showed up, but no employees. Today I got to the gym at 1:55 and was told by a trainer that he was closing the gym at 2:00 because the front desk was unstaffed. What if I'd brought a client with me or was training for an event?
I'm not looking for a boutique, mint-infused experience. I like to move heavy-ass weight and I don't mind getting dirty or sweaty doing it. I'd like it to be better-maintained and a bit cleaner, but really I just need the gym to be open when it's supposed to be. I'm on the fence as to weather the affordable membership is worth never knowing if I'll actually be able...
Read moreThe gym's offerings are good. Its a no frills kind of place but reasonably priced and great location.
Unfortunately, my life style changed where I started working on the road a lot more and needed to cancel. In December I went to the gym in person to cancel and was assured it would be taking care of. Fast forward 3 months, I am still being charged. Each month I called and each month I'm assured the issue will be fixed and the amount that was charged (beyond the first month of cancellation) would be put back on my card.
In the past month, when I call and email no one picks up or responds. I've come in person, but am told the person at the desk can not help and that I'll need to speak with management. I have 2 kids and job that requires a lot of travel and don't have time for these games. I'm happy to modify this review if there is a misunderstanding, but I struggle to see it any other way at this time given the lack of communication.
I've seen instances of fraud in other comments and wonder if that is whats happening to me too. The gym has made unauthorized draws on my card twice so far. Unless I hear something this week, I'm just going to cut my losses and block the vendor on my credit card. Unreal....
If you consider joining this gym, I highly encourage you to only pay your...
Read moreLet me start by saying this gym does have things going for it. It’s in a great location (you can park for free too), the receptionists are nice, and they have a great variety of equipment. The price is pretty good for the area too at $65 a month plus annual fees. However, that’s about where the good things end.
The equipment is old (some of the squat rack supports are bent and many of the plates are chipped). At the squat racks, there are even gaps in the matting on the ground that you can get injured on if you aren’t careful.
The place gets HOT in the summer. How can you have a place this big without AC? One fan, no matter how big it is, won’t help. It’s actually really uncomfortable on the warmest days.
There are leaks all over the building. Puddles and buckets are a common sight.
If cardio is your thing, many of the machines aren’t even plugged in.
Overall, it’s not bad. Hell, I’m even still going here because there isn’t a better option for me. But there is a frustrating lack of care that goes into managing this gym. It could be a lot...
