Vashon Maury Island Heritage — Attraction in Washington

I would’ve liked to have given this museum a ‘5’ but unfortunately when I got there it wasn’t open. I checked the website, which very clearly said because of COVID-19 the museum would be closed until mid -March. It then listed the hours it was open , Wednesday through Sunday, 1 to 4 PM . It was never updated from mid-March. I made a trip from Seattle just to see this museum. So If I ever get a chance to see this museum, I may update my stars, but since I can’t trust the website to give me accurate information about when it’s open, I’m not sure how I’m ever going to decide...

Family friendly! A GEM! A must stop for all things historical, geological, marine, etc., etc. Do not miss this museum. It is so well done it looks like it has been curated by a group of very well educated professors and PhD plus plus students. I’ve never seen this level of expertise in such a small town as Vashon! Really...

This is a lovely small historical museum. There are several themes of the exhibits: history of the indigenous people, geology of Vashon Island (see pic, know your beach rocks!), oceanography of the Salish Sea, natural history of the animals that made it to the island, history of white settlement. Well worth a couple hours...
