I've lived in Watertown Square for nearly 6 years and have had an outstanding, welcoming and positive experience. It's only due to relocation that I'm leaving the community. My particular unit was just perfect-well sized, well designed and I loved having a washer/dryer in my own unit. The place was spacious for what I needed, had ample room when I hosted friends and loved the kitchen and appliances with a gas stove and dishwasher.
Some of the amenities I loved include the good size gym with treadmills, the community room with wifi-a great place to do some work from home, dry cleaning pick-up, a secure package room and clean mail room! The underground, easily accessible parking lot is critical in Boston winters-no parking or snow removal issues! Trash and recycling are easily managed and promptly removed. Though I very seldom had a service request, in the rare instance I did the response was immediate, thorough and lead to full resolution. The property is well-maintained, clean and easily accessible. The visitor parking-easy to get a pass-made it simple for friends to visit and have a secure spot adjacent to the building. The security is great with coded doors and on-site staff regularly.
There are often community events which help residents become aware of additional perks of living here. The credit for this great experiences most certainly goes to Kristin and the entire community leadership team. They, daily go out of there way to provide first-class attention, service and to make everyone feel welcome and at home! I attribute my overall amazing experience here to Kristin and the entire Watertown Square! I've lived in numerous places and they make this home for us! Thanks again Kristin for being available for anything and everything! Should I move back to Boston in the future there is no doubt I would live in this...
Read moreI absolutely love living at Watertown Square Apartments! With an in-unit washer and dryer, an open kitchen with new full appliances, a newly renovated movie room, updated community room and workout facility, Watertown Square has it all! Underground parking with elevator access and major bus routes half a block away make transportation a breeze! The staff has made this apartment complex an involved community while also maintaining privacy. They're also pet friendly, which is a huge plus! Shelby and Anthony in the front office are always hospitable and helpful, and Patrick and David keep everything running smoothly. Any time I have a service request, it's answered quickly and efficiently. Watertown Square is all about the details that make apartment-living feel like home: the decor in the hallways, nooks with couches and rocking chairs throughout the facility, large windows, walk-in closets, and oversized bathtubs. This perfect location gives you a quiet, suburban feel while maintaining close proximity to all that big-city living has to offer! Living at one of Equity Residential's properties provides tons of resources such as discounted dry cleaning, pet services, meal subscriptions, and so much more! Watertown Square truly has its residents' happiness and well-being at the heart of what they do. I wholeheartedly recommend...
Read moreExpect enormous rent increases every year (up to 20%+). Equity apartments are known for this. They will increase the rent whenever they feel it is possible, based on how many visitors, web traffic, applications, and prices of neighboring apartment buildings.
There are better apartments for similar prices in the area.
Be aware that water bill will be in $100-200 range, even for moderate use.
Units near the restaurants may experience swarms of flies.
Units on the first floor should be aware of the potential for security issues, as it is possible for a motivated individual to easily enter patio areas.
Amenities are mediocre, with little funds allocated towards updating the building and features of the premises. Common areas could be cleaner, some dog messes are to be expected. Apartments are okay, have granite countertops, but it is apparent that the spaces has aged since construction and changing hands.
I am also concerned that Equity seems to have issues keeping enough staff and seems to have a lot of turnover. All the staff I've interacted with at two Equity properties have worked extremely hard and do a great job, however. This leaves me feeling that Equity is prioritizing their profits above their employees...
