Oh my god. That was insane. Got jerk chicken, oxtail, patties, all just absolutely incredible. My mouth has been blessed, this was a holy experience, if this oxtail looked me in the eyes and tried to convert me to its religion I’d go in full send. Don’t be fooled- when you pull up you go down the driveway and you go up to the door to pickup the food, it’s not a sit in place but also thats how u know the foods gonna be FIRE!!!!!! This food just sat me down and taught me the meaning of life. To eat these patties and a cola champagne again I would die happy. You gotta come here. I would drive 5 hours for this food. Even if the prices look high you could easily get 2 meals outta this food and it’s SO WORTH IT especially to support a small business owned by the sweetest couple ever!!!!! **I’ve been a regular at Strait Jamaican Cuisine in Waterville from December through May, visiting weekly—and for good reason. This place delivers an authentic Jamaican experience right in central Maine.

The menu offers a rich variety of flavorful, well-prepared dishes. Some of my favorites include the curry chicken, curry shrimp, Rasta pasta, steamed fish, and the curry coconut salmon. I’ve also had special orders like dumplings with chicken, and steamed fish with crackers—all cooked to perfection. Every bite feels like a trip to Jamaica, with bold spices and comforting island flavors.

The atmosphere is quiet, clean, and peaceful—ideal for a relaxed meal. Service is always friendly and prompt, and the chef not only brings serious culinary skills but also makes the experience even more enjoyable.

What an amazing little hidden gem!!! It’s in an interesting location but don’t let that scare you away!! It’s just a walk up window so don’t plan for a sit down lunch.

We were a little concerned with how long the food took once ordered but it was worth every second of the wait. I had the chicken Cesar wrap and my friend ordered a plate with jerk pork, sweet potato’s and rice. My wrap was probably the best wrap I’ve had in my life. Her sweet pots were different than anything I’ve ever tasted- pretty sure there was ginger in there. I never want sweet potatoes any other way for the rest of my existence. And the pork was amazing!
