Was in the area and decided to get some pastry at Holy Cannoli. I'd been there before, but not since Covid. No customers were waiting. One woman behind the counter was on the telephone and didn't acknowledge my presence. Another woman was stocking things and also ignored me. Neither one wore a mask. After standing there for 5+ minutes, three other women came into the store. The woman who'd been stocking gave them some salad prongs and apoligized (I assume for not having them). After the tongs were given, the recipient said, "and they would like to order something," meaning the people she was with. The clerk began waiting on them, and I'm standing there fully ignored! I said, "hey, I was here first. Wait on me." The woman with the tongs said, "No, you weren't." I replied, "I saw you come in." The woman snidely commented, "you saw me come BACK in. I was already here and had to leave." I said, "you left the building, and I'm next." The clerk who'd been on the phone now comes over, full of apologies, and asks what she can do for me. I walked out. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but when I see stuff like that happening, it turns me off. First, I should've been acknowledged by the wait staff. Second, I should've been waited on immediately. Clerks shouldn't be gabbing on the phone with friends while customers wait. Not going back...
Read moreI came to try this place out for the first time with my girlfriend just recently. Always heard great things about the food there, so I had to try it out for myself. The atmosphere was awesome, very open, people sitting at a table chatting and having coffee, i didn't get to have coffee, but it all looked local and amazing. All the baked goods looked ridiculous. Insane quality. Me and my girl ended up getting three different types of cannolis because its holy cannoli and we had to try them, we also got a milano cookie and a macaroon. Everything was top notch. Couldn't get higher quality. That Macaroon though, WOW. I'm not a coconut guy but that macaroon may have made me one now. Holy cannoli is a double edged sword. The food quality is highest level. However, if you like baked goods, they are so good here that you could gain 300lbs in 5 days. Don't do that, but come in, start with a cookie and work your way...
Read moreAs a small business owner myself, I'm not one to leave bad reviews. I could be dissatisfied with product but if I'm treated really well, I'll always give you another try. Not the case here. I made my first visit here yesterday (Monday). It must have been close to closing time, a little after 5. The woman behind the counter was incredibly rude to us and so obviously annoyed we had come in. She did not want to acknowledge us, period. My gf asked if she was still making food and she smugly answered...depends. I am so unimpressed with this place. With the state of the economy, you should be happy you have a business with customers coming in, especially with all the competition in Waterville. If you are the owner, shame on you! If not, I hope the owner sees this. We ended up getting something pre made to go. Food was okay but I'll NEVER be back. I've never felt more...
