We came here for the first time today, mostly for the playground, not the pump track. I'm giving this five stars because it is a really neat spot for littler kids, and especially for accessible and natural play areas. My K4 kid loved it and the structures/activities were well-suited to her. On the other hand, my second grader, who loves climbing, found little to engage or challenge her whole body. Not a fault of the park, just worth knowing that most of the equipment is for younger kids. To be fair she was a little grumpy but wasn't exactly wrong either.
There's a shaded picnic area, and other area with the shade sail, lots of benches and integrated seating. Most of the play areas are covered in astroturf, which is surprisingly satisfying and totally makes sense for younger kids. There are bathrooms and drinking fountains, lots of walking and biking areas, a bike repair station, bike racks, and lots of natural nooks and places of interest to explore.
I'm looking forward to bringing them back once they've got their biking/balance down so they can try out the pump track. There were so many little (and older) kids cruising and doing tricks. So cool. And surrounded by the tall grasses and natural landscaping, it's definitively worth checking...
Read moreOf course, I came to see the troll sculpture. She's amazing love the touch with the light poles representing flowers. The park had a massive amount of visitors to see the troll sculpture, though they did walk around the park to see what the park offered. Wonderful paved walking paths for better ADA accessibility. Benches or rocks to sit on. Bike track, various equipment for the children to play on, a pavilion-type rain shelter, pond, rain garden, a hut made of cit and live red willow, restrooms, plenty of lighting, and a large slope slide. Much of the sod and plantings near the troll have been killed by visitors and the lack of watering. That will need to be addressed after the novelty of troll wears off. Parking overflowed all around the neighborhood though most people were courteous and patient...
