Picked up an online order for dinner last night around 7 PM. Food was immediately ready, however the sandwiches were honestly awful.
I rarely send back food, especially fast food, because it’s usual subpar tasting to begin with, however these sandwiches needed to be sent back, but I had already driven home before I realized the number of problems.
Spent roughly $30 for two of the new Thanksgiving Turkey specials and added gravy on the side for an extra dollar each. Number one, gravy was completely missing from the order. Fantastic, already off to a bad start.
Both sandwiches were absolutely stone cold. Not cold as in room temperature because they had been sitting out. Cold as in, I just pulled these ingredients out of the refrigerator cold. This is advertised as a hot sandwich on a toasted bun. Neither the bun was toasted, nor the sub was remotely heated or made with heated ingredients.
I was already hungry and at home, so I heated the cold sloppy mess that was supposed to be my “sandwich” and ate it. Nothing to write home about. There was hardly any cranberry sauce on both subs, which was disappointing since that’s the part I was looking forward to most.
I won’t be going back to this location again because the workers there just don’t give a crap about anything. They were already trying to pack their things and clean up when I arrived at 7 PM, well before advertised closing time, so I’m guessing they didn’t bother to make my sandwiches properly. Didn’t help that they all appeared under the influence of something either.
Management needs to keep on eye on this location because this is the 2nd time I’ve had poorly made food from this specific location. Needless to say I won’t be going back here. It’s not a very cheap place to eat to begin with, but in definitely not wasting my money on a sub that can’t even be prepared correctly. The old Elm Grove location was amazing, but they have since closed. Mayfair location seems to be riddled with utter laziness and/or ineptitude. I understand it’s not a high paying job, but would it kill you to do the very simple and basic core tasks...
Read moreI have never been spoken to in the manner in which I was spoken to here. I walked in and was asking for my order and they said nothing in my order, which had been placed 45 minutes ago for pickup was made. They said most of the ingredients in the order were not available and they were out of the ingredients. They just never made my order, then said door dash was to blame. I never ordered on door dash. I was quite surprised and yes starving and cranky. All they did was offer a refund, no remaking of subs, alternative or anything. I asked if an employee who was on a cell phone could help me. I was irritated and asked if they could please help, I literally simply asked please get off the phone to just refund me. I was yelled at and told I would be disrespected as I had to her. Wow. I was absolutely floored. I see an employee on a cell phone behind the counter and now she's accusing me of speaking to her badly and now both employees are in at me. I was on the i was on the phone with my husband who ordered the food and the employee refused to talk to him and continued to lecture me about how I should just take my refund as offered and not speak to them “any which way.” I am floored. What would you think if you waited for food that was never made then see an employee who is standing behind the counter on a cell phone? Nobody called us to say our order was not able to be filled and then very rude to me. I just went to Jimmy Johns. They were open, had sandwich ingredients, and made my order in 90 seconds and didn't insult me, gang up on me and be rude about me being upset and irritated my order was never made. Just choose elsewhere. I wouldn't trust that they wouldn't compromise my food and just got the refund.I honestly would just check on those employees to be sure they are ok, seemed quite volatile and a propensity for violence. Honestly, if it weren't my husband's order I would have just let them keep the measly...
Read moreI grew up on meatball subs from a local hole-in-the-wall place that my parents went to while they were dating. They changed their recipe and aren't worth eating anymore. Enter Firehouse Subs. They have my new favorite meatball sandwich anywhere around. It's somewhat open faced with plenty of cheese and sauce and seasoned goodness. I also love that there are multiple sizes available so you have plenty of options.
The rest of the subs here at Firehouse are equally as good (at least that's what my husband says). Tons of options to choose from with endless options to customize. Both toasted and un-toasted subs are available and the toasted ones are worth the wait.
As an added bonus Firehouse gives back locally to first responders. You may pay a little more for their sandwiches, but it's entirely worth it in my opinion.
They only get 4 stars because I feel like there's always room for improvement, and five stars is reserved for me for the best...
