We had dinner here tonight. It was not our first time at the restaurant. My entrée came out before our table of six got any of their food. When we asked about 20 min later if it could be taken back since noone got theirs at the table. I received the same thing heated up minutes later , with bread dropped in it; all soggy. Most of our entrées alone were $40-$50 each , not to mention apps, desserts and drinks, so it's kind of disrespectful to serve that same, microwaved plate back to me. For the apps: octopus not seasoned at all, faro salad tasted like someone mixed it with the cucumbers, etc. 4 days ago and now it's just a mushy mess that even your farm animals would refuse to eat. The salad was just sitting at the table. Did anyone ask why? How was everything? No. The waiter was inattentive, did not offer water, I had to grab water off the waitstaff's staging station, since he never really checked on us. We had to flag him down once. Otherwise , we gave up on asking for anything else, since he was too busy doing nothing. He acted the same with other tables, so at least he was consistent. For a table of 6, your bill is about $500 , without ordering anything special, but 20% tip is included, of course . I never tipped anyone less than 20% but this guy really tested me. He is lucky that 20%s are added, because he is the worse waiter ever. He never even asked if anything was fine, if anyone needed anything. He also never mentioned that meats, such as a schnitzel does not come with any sides. For steaks, yes absolutely, but a piece of fried meat? Just let us know and we order a side right away. BTW it was my birthday which we did not mention, but having such bad experience for a bday is not cool at all. Any person with a quarter of a brain, who happens to be a waitstaff would have known that the more you check on tables and offer them recommendations, drinks, etc, the most wild you would make. The reason why i even bring up the menu prices, because 20% added to those items , this waiter figured he just has to show up to work to collect. Imagine if would have actually done his job? At a place like this, he could make some serious money, while not getting customers angry. He made us feel like we were a burden because he has to take food out to us. Even through he did not do anything else. He also repeated a menu item after me , emphasizing on pronunciation. His was wrong btw, not to mention it is rude for anymore to behave like that. Waiter guy , you know who you are. Talk to me when you speak 8 languages. In the meantime , spend some of that 20% on a dictionary. Kitchen expediter, I saw you handing back the same reheated plate. I hope you are content with yourselves. Food and beverage manager, don't bother replying to my post as you did to other reviews stating that customers experience is important and that you hope that we will be back. We won't be back and I will keep spreading the word. In the meantime you should observe what is going on in your establishment, train your staff, hire better people. This place really has been going down 100% since you...
Read moreWe arrived at 650pm...had reservations at 7pm. We were not even properly greeted...guy just said....can I help you...no Hello! Welcome or nothing! I think you could fair much better with a better more enthusiastic host/hostess! First impressions mean a lot and should be expected for a place like this! We were "told" to go to the bar and wait...?? I asked for a glass of Moscato and was told they didn't serve it.. um ok? Anyway it was 715 when hubby finally went to the host and reminded him we had reservations at 7....he said our table was ready now. Our booth was very nice and cozy with pillows which was fun! The atmosphere and smell of the Wood fire is very very nice. We ordered another drink....amazingly tho... now they had Moscato...? How very odd! Anyway...ordered the charcuterie board...$22.. there was no fruit like grapes or anything or nuts either... Service was still very slow but we tried not to mind and just enjoy the atmosphere. We finally ordered...we ordered a $42 filet and hubby ordered the Tomohawk steak. It was a very very long wait....we finally noticed his steak sitting up by the kitchen warmer waiting to be picked up and delivered to us....it sat there forever...finally she delivered our food.. and low and behold it's cold...a $115 steak...cold...so we called over the waitress and told her it was cold so she took it back and apparently the chef warmed it up.. but..now a med rare $115 steak just went to a dry medium steak...with no flavor. My hubby was so excited to come here for his bday.....which was also noted on our reservations...so...the whole experience was pretty disheartening. When I asked to speak to the manager he apologized but tried to blame it on a glitch you were having that night with your computer system...? Seriously? Sorry...but when you send food back it's not because of a glitch in a computer system! Not acceptable! That waitress should have been falling over it making sure it was warmed up and returned to the customer immediately! Instead she was no where to be found! We even saw the chef set it back under the warmer again! The waitress literally disappeared from site. Never came back to check on us after all of this! We finally had to waive her over to get the check.. adjusted of course for an inedible $115 steak! I hope this is a teaching moment....never blame "poor service" on a computer glitch and be more attentive to your customers especially if you consider yourselves a "high end " dining experience! If you want to use all those $$$ in your reviews please live up to the expectations and experiences the customer is going to assume! We won't be back....sorry.. 5 o'clock steakhouse is still #1...
Read moreMy experience at Elder and Rine was my first and last. Coming into the restaurant, I was enamored with scenery. It was a very beautiful restaurant. However, the service was horrendous. The food was expensive and not worth my money at all. The server, however, was the pinnacle point of my horrible experience here.
My server, Emily, had a horrible attitude with me and took forever to get service. We went it when it was very slow- so I was hoping to get exceptional service since I checked the hours of operation to make sure my wife and I were satisfied enough. But that was not the case. Ms. Emily took about fifteen minutes to come take our order. Now I am not confrontational whatsoever, but I did bring this up to her and she just got attitude with me saying she was busy- even though I clearly saw her talking to other servers. I ignored it and let it slide- I understand how customer service can be. My wife and I both ordered drinks. My wife ordered a blackberry sangria but she didn’t get that- it was not even close to what she ordered. When Emily came back twenty minutes later, we asked her if we could finally order and get a new drink for my wife since it was messed up. Emily did apologize, but was a little snarky about it. We did get our food in reasonable time, but it took a while for my wife to get a new drink. Not to mention, my wife wasn’t even compensated for that drink! We still had to pay! After our experience of eating and drinking, we got the bill. I asked Emily why the drink was still on the bill and she said it wasn’t. It was. I told her I wanted to speak to a manager, but she told me that wasn’t necessary and that “we don’t even have one right now.” I was honestly just fed up at this point and wanted to get out of there. My wife and I will not be back anytime soon. I’m hoping the service here improves because I was very disappointed.
However, I did order the steak and papas. It was pretty good. It was overcooked when I did ask for it rare. But steaks are expensive so I wouldn’t have asked for it to be remade, who knows? I could’ve gotten charged for two steaks as well. My wife enjoyed her hummus board appetizer but not the amish chicken. The chicken was very dry. I tried it myself, I would say the same. So although the food is good for the most part, the service definitely...
