Holland Lake Park — Attraction in Weatherford

This more or less a warning to those of you thinking to come to this park. This park is actually pretty nice. Nice lake to fish in. Nice area for kids to play. The big issue is the location of the parking. It is directly across the from the softball fields. We had our windshield broken and my wife sustain injury by the rear view mirror hitting her in the for head by kids "playing" on the field. They were standing half way into the field purposefully hitting balls into the cars and laughing about it. 2 other cars also got damaged. Upon calling the police out to the park we were informed this is perfectly fine and if we didn't want our car damaged or be hurt we should not have gone to the park. As a baseball player I know this can be done on accident during a game. But there was no game or practice. These were just kids standing mid way into the field hitting balls into the parked cars. Laughing to the point they fell over after busting out some poor older woman's driver side rear window. And again according to the Weatherford Police this is perfectly fine. We even asked "what if one of these cars were to have been a child?", again we were told this is perfectly fine and if we don't want our child to be murdered by kids purposefully hitting balls into the parking lot we should not come to the park. Upon calling Weatherford Parks and Recreation we were told the exact same thing. Because it is a softball field you run the risk of injury, death, or damage to vehicle upon going to this park. After this experience I am stuck with a $400 repair and $1,000 hospital bill and these kids were just told by police it is perfectly fine to hurt people and break...

Holland lake Park is a great place to visit. It has a small lake where you could do a little fishing or pack a picnic lunch and take a walk on the trails or All the above. We came here for a birthday party and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the park was. The initial vibe I got was "this is a relaxing place to visit". There were people doing all sorts of things: walking, biking, playing, taking pictures, people watching. I don't know how far the trails go, but there was a good amount of people, so I assume they have some distance to them. I plan to take the entire family back here to come hang out and play some weekend soon. It's great knowing there's a nice park near my house.
