If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to step directly into a snow globe on steroids, let me introduce you to the Lake Myra Christmas Light Show! This isn’t just a light show—it’s a full-blown spectacle that Rudolph himself would take notes on.
The moment I arrived, my inner child—who had been asleep since the early 2000s—suddenly awoke and demanded hot cocoa. As soon as the lights started dancing to music, I caught myself wondering: Is this what the North Pole raves look like? Because if it is, I’m all in! The synchronization of the lights with the music was so precise that I suspect the elves may have hired NASA engineers to design it.
The atmosphere was pure magic, with families ooh-ing and ahh-ing like they were witnessing Santa himself dropping down a chimney in real-time. And let me tell you, the glow from the lights made everyone look like they had flawless Instagram filters on. (Forget "candlelight glow," we’re talking holiday glow perfection here!)
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t try to hum along with the Christmas classics blaring in the background. My attempts at caroling weren’t pretty, but the lights didn’t judge—they just kept sparkling, blessing my off-key holiday spirit.
Parking? Easy. Crowds? Jovial. Worth the drive? Absolutely! My only regret was not bringing more snacks to fuel my jaw-dropping reactions.
If you’re looking to sprinkle some extra Christmas cheer onto your season (and maybe temporarily blind yourself with joy), this light show is an absolute must-see. Thanks, Lake Myra—my retinas may never recover, but my heart is...
Read moreI absolutely love this light show being downtown. For years and years, these folks ran the lights outside of Wendell in the country, and they were one of the most popular light shows around. In the last few years since they have come into Wendell, it has been so much fun! The town has made it a whole event when they kick off the lights, and it is a must see. Great place to take the kids or your significant other on a date: see beautiful lights in walking distance of food and ice cream. If you are around Wendell you definitely need to come see, and if you are not it is...
Read moreIt was nothing like the description I read. Its simply a round circle with various lights. In the guest book little boy drew a sad face and when leaving young lady stated this sucks so don't get your hopes up to high. I've seen this setup in people yard. Now the following day we went to Wake Forest and this man has a drive through light show and that was pretty awesome. Family owned setting and they have a lot of lights. They take donations I would go back there. Traffic can get heavy so be prepared. That place was called Pipers Light...
