Creative Cone — Restaurant in Wendell

I was SO excited to try Creative Cone as I love ice cream. My husband picked up lots of it the other day and here are my opinions…the Espresso Oreo is absolutely out of this world! It is the flavor that will keep me going back, like forever! My son had the Super Human and I really struggled with this one. It was good and he liked it. My problem was it had RIDICULOUS amounts of dye. I know ice cream is a treat, but it literally dyed the plastic spoon. For this reason we won’t be getting this flavor again. The Birthday Cake was good. My daughter in law said the dulce de leche was ok but not great. Disclaimer—- it was from the week before and wasn’t on the menu that week so maybe it lost flavor over the week? The cake baBottom line is we will all keep going back for the Espresso Oreo. We would be willing to try other fresh flavors, but we don’t have any desire for the flavors that have so much added dye. Update- I didn’t realize the spoons changed color! Wendell NC is a lovely small authentic NC town which consists of several small shall shops, mainly bars and restaurants. REVISION: A few days ago we had a not so great experience. I left a review with the details and the owners took action. They commented on my review and reached out via social media to get an understanding of the situation, and invited us back to the store to discuss what happened in person.

You can tell these owners deeply care for their business. They will make sure every customer has an excellent experience. Today, we went in and got our ice cream. I got the lemon blueberry swirl in their homemade waffle cone, and my partner got one of their creative cones. They were excellent! We are really excited to have this shop so close to where we live, and now knowing how much the owners care for their business makes it all the better.
