I wish I could give it even more stars š„¹
Sizes: Plus size friendly Staff: Variety in race/ethnicity and size. It felt like real women (not cookie cutter) in all colors shapes and sizes which was wonderful to see. They also have appointments for those that are Spanish speaking that can be booked. Also felt very queer friendly as a bride with a bride š Price: Every gown I tried on was under $4000. They also do a discount if you buy two dresses which I wasnāt considering before I found two gowns that I loved. It was either 20 or 25% off the second gown if you get two. Price range of the gowns I liked and tried on was $1300-$3600. I didnāt really have a budget when I started shopping so color me surprised when my favorite dress was under $2000. That changed as my fiancĆ©e went to part time from our DINK while I was in the process of wedding dress shopping sadly. But the gown that I wanted was originally $1300 at my 1st appt (then $1845 as tariffs occurred between appts no fault or the stores).
Environment: itās stunning and so beautiful. I had no FOMO of going to a ālargerā boutique. It was a Saturday so a bit busy but I felt catered to. Towards the end was a little rushy but only bc I had 3 gowns I retried on back to back to help narrow down after trying on a billion dresses š. I was definitely going over time. The staff wasnāt rushy at all. They never felt pushy and gave me the time I needed to really let it sink in.
Ordering: I booked a second appt about 3 weeks later to decide on my gown. It was wonderful. My consultant pulled the dress I loved and a couple in the same designer but sizes that I may need to try as Iām a bridal 20 but fit an 18 and had Bariatric surgery so possibly a 16 will be needed by the time my dress would be delivered. This was extraordinary as most dresses would arrive 3 months (Jul) after ordering alterations are about 2 months and my wedding is Oct. She gave me the ordering time for the two dresses I had narrowed down to and the time frame of rush ordering with prices. Ordinarily I would have planned better for how quickly I needed the dress but I didnāt plan on losing 112lbs nor having Bariatric surgery when I did. The other dress I was considering was also a dress from another boutique. Same designer. Simply blush was able to give me a price and shipping time as well.
Consultant: My consultant Kenan was amazing. Iām not certain if everyoneāsā consultant experience is similar but she was just so sweet and listened!!! I pivoted mid appointment on what I thought Iād like and she started having different dresses pulled while I was still in gowns which saved so much time.
It was a perfect experience.
The only reason I didnāt end up getting my dress here is because I found a similar dress from the same designer that was a sample so I was able to take it home same day and there were no tariffs price changes as it was off the rack as tariffs occurred between my two appointments. I couldnāt recommend Simply Blush enough or Kenan. Iāll be back for...
Ā Ā Ā Read morewhen I scheduled an appointment for my daughter, I was asked what our budget was. It was really disappointing to find out that the very first dress that she put on and fell in love with was $500 more than the max budget. The sleeves were an additional $350. The veil was an additional $350. The shipping was around $100. Alterations were estimated to be between $500-$800. I was offered a VIP package that would include steaming, a garment bag, a reduction in shipping to $80 and a discount on accessories of 10% and the price of that was $175. The total was roughly $2000 above the $3000 budget....... I share this so that you can keep these additional charges in mind as you budget. I encourage you to set boundaries early with your stylist and be clear on an out the door budget. I told them that we wanted to reevaluate the budget and make sure that we could make adjustments in other areas to be able to fit these unexpected costs into the overall budget. And that's when the high-pressure sales started.... We were basically told that if we didn't order the dress right then, that there wouldn't be enough time to receive it before her wedding. That really rubbed me the wrong way and I felt like it was just a sales tactic to close the deal on the same day.
We left the store feeling disappointed. I got online to start looking for other shops to make an appointment at and that's when I came across the website called Bridal Closet. I saw that they carried the same designer and reached out to them to ask about their pricing structure for the same dress. I was shocked when the invoice that I received for the dress, veil and sleeves came in $2000 less than the price that Simply Blush quoted.
As a consumer, I'm more inclined to pay a higher price at a small owned business when customer service is great but this is a time where I'm thankful that I didn't let emotions lead decision-making. We saved almost $2000 by locating the dress online. Bridal Closet was more transparent and explained that the designer has a $400 tariff charge for all of their dresses. They informed me that the dress was part of the fall 2025 release and would not ship until the end of August. They gave us free expedited shipping, a free garment bag with hanger and I did not have to pay sales tax.
I highly encourage you to explore your options before making decisions.
I will say that the second star that I gave this rating is because they were easy to schedule with, had a great variety to choose from and the shop was clean and organized well. My daughter had a good experience with the stylist during...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis bridal shop is literally the beginning of my worst nightmare. First off, an older sales lady would not allow my daughter to browse at all, but SHE chose what SHE thought would look good on my daughter. After getting it SO wrong for half the appointment we finally found a dress that would work. It wasnāt what we wanted but sales lady was adamant that her āsleeve expertā would recreate the organza sleeves my daughter wanted and add them to the strapless dress. ā¦Let the nightmare begin. Said āsleeve expertā was indeed nothing of the sort. Sleeves were created from expensive fabric I had to purchase from bridal salon and were so botched and hideous we had to ask them to remove altogether. Not only were the sleeves a disaster but the entire dress was badly botched and filthy when we got it back! They did make a whole different sleeve but left raw edges sticking out and only attached with a flimsy plastic snap.
In a moment of sheer panic, 10 days before my daughterās wedding, I call Simply Blush to inquire about the possibility of just buying a new dress off the rack. I explained the situation and was willing to purchase yet another dress that my own seamstress was willing to hem as an emergency. Guess what I was told? āLet me look for the dress she originally tried on and I will call you RIGHT BACK!ā And thatās the last time I ever heard from Simply Blush. Not even the decency to try and help remedy the nightmare their seamstress created. There are way too many disasters with her alterations to even get into! The dress is ruined and this bridal salon already had the sale so they didnāt care to help us. Run! Once they sell you a dress theyāre done with you! And for the love of your daughter DO NOT use their tailor!!
Edit: the canned response from Simply Blush is so insincere. Theyāre always the same speech. As I stated, I DID call, I DID speak with your team and was told someone would call me back that day. We were told the seamstress in Knightdale was sooo exceptional itās THE ONLY REASON WE BOUGHT THE DRESS!! Which again is completely RUINED! I had to buy a whole new wedding dress for my daughter 10 days before...
