West Bend Cinema — Attraction in West Bend

Where do I even begin. My friends and I were unsure where to purchase our tickets at first. Some of the staff was not very friendly, however some people were nice. The hallway had lights flickering and looked kind of like a scene from a horror movie, very sketchy. The theater we were in had seats in the front torn out and piled right below the screen. When we arrived the projector wasn’t even on. We went back out to get snacks, and an older man was out their and was looking at the five of us (teenagers) and said hi girls and where are you going, what movie are you seeing and it was strange because we didn’t know that he worked there. Later, one of the five of us was bringing her pizza back to the theater and the man again stopped her and said I’m going to follow you because you have pizza jokingly. He followed her a few steps so she ran back to the theater. After she told us what happened, the door to the theater opened and the man was there and he looked at us and stood there for about a minute and then left. It was strange because he had asked earlier what movie we were seeing, and we had told him. From the other reviews I’ve read we’re guessing this older man could be the manager. My family and I went to see the Super Mario Bros. movie on opening night. We were assigned to theater 1, but when we entered the theater the movie was midway through. Without warning, our showing was moved to theater 2. We entered theater 2, and another family was in the seats we were assigned. Apparently, due to technical difficulties, seats were now first come, first served. We picked this theater because we could pick out seats in advance online. The seats we did sit in were filthy. Our showing was supposed to start at 7:15, but the move did not start until 7:40 because of projector issues. To top it off, the popcorn was some weird mix of kettle corn and regular popcorn and it tasted old. When we went to go get popcorn refills, the concessions stand was closed. Paid $33 for popcorn and drinks and couldn’t even get a refill. Combined with a previous incident where the projector cut out during Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummaina. My advice is to drive a little further and go to a theater that actually cares about...

I came back and Last 2 movies have been solid... audio issues were gone. Love the smaller rooms. Chairs are nice but not the best. Fair value for tickets and staff was friendly. Bathrooms were clean. $5 Tuesdays. Update: 3 of last 4 trips to this theater have been disappointing because audio/sound quality was sub par. We can barely hear... We watched Captain Marvel today & were bummed because could NOT hear the amazing sound track. Asked to turn up and they did but still was lacking... Frustrating?!

I was previously 5 stars and I want to send love to a home town movie theater but can't pretend this is even average.
