West Caldwell Public Library — Attraction in West Caldwell

I recently ventured over to the West Caldwell Library to see what they had to offer. I happened to come in while the Library Director was at the front desk and had a delightful conversation with her regarding many of the different programs that are available to the patrons of the library and residents of the area. What I also found fascinating was the BCCLS (I think I got that right) which allows you to share books through other libraries in that catalog system if the West Caldwell Library does not have it on hand. Ms.McCoy also introduced me to a few of the library staff who helped me out with other additional questions I came up with while there. I found the facility to be nicely updated compared to the last library I went to and easy to navigate...

The staff, specifically & especially Barbara at front desk is so nasty & rude. She likes the men, will be courteous & flirt with them in a very phony manner, but she sure is rude & even to children. Purposely took men from the back of the line while others were ignored. She ignores questions & requests, very rude for working at a public library. I know many people in town who go to other libraries because of her. The gentleman working in the back is nice but he is deaf & I wish he would get a hearing aid because he simply can not hear you unless you yell & scream your questions. And it's library. Just so awkward. Children's librarians are very sweet & kind, I just wish they could check our books out instead of that witch at the front...

I went there to take an exam. The only two quiet rooms were taken. So I had no choice but to sit on a desk. A few minutes later a loud group supposedly came down from another floor because the floor they normally use was going to be need for a meeting. I could not focus at all. For an expensive town they need to accommodate their residents a little better. Make more quiet rooms.

UPDATE: I think they should close a little later on Thursday and Fridays. Now that the weather is getting colder I’m try to find things to do indoors and closing early...
